DOOM HD weapons and objects mod

Overview

HD (8-16x + resolution) sprite redraws for first person weapons, and all pickups, objects and decorations. Compatible with doom, beautiful doom and brutal doom (purist mode). All weapons and weapon animation frames, items and decorations have been completed and are included in the packs. Over 500 sprites have been redrawn in total - attempts have been made to keep faithful to the original sprites and styling, although some changes have had to be made due to the additional detail needed.

Note the environmental textures (walls, floors etc) seen in the screenshots are from the dhtp alterations mod Moddb.com, and are not included here.

Requirements

This has been tested on the Gzdoom 3.3.2 Zdoom.org and zandronum 3.0 Zandronum.com source ports. Older versions or other ports may work, but haven't been tested. The beautiful doom version of the mod requires the beautiful doom mod.

How to use

This mod has been packed as a .pk3 file inside the zip - to use, extract the included .pk3 file from the downloaded zip file and load the .pk3 file with the gzdoom/Zandronum engine ports :

• GZdoom: gzdoom -iwad *path to doom wad* -file *path to mod file*
  e.g: gzdoom -iwad c:\doom\doom.wad -file c:\doom\HRRP_Doomv0.12.pk3
• Zanodronum: zanodronum -iwad *path to iwad* -file *path to mod file*
  e.g: zanodronum -iwad c:\doom\doom.wad -file c:\doom\HRRP_Doomv0.12.pk3

Compatibility

This mod can be used alongside other mods which don't modify the weapons or items, and has been designed to run alongside other texture packs which enhance the environments textures (such as the dhtp_alterations mod Moddb.com which is being used in the screenshots).

There are multiple versions of the mod file available for download, each built for a different mod :

• HRRP doom : Use this version for unmodified doom, or to try with other gameplay mods
• HRRP beautiful doom : Use this version with the latest release of the beautiful doom mod Moddb.com. Older versions of beautiful doom may not work with this.
• HRRP brutal doom : Use this version with the latest version of the brutal doom mod Moddb.com. Note currently only classic weapons are supported.

You only need to run the single zip file for the mod you are running, you don't need them all. Running multiple versions of the mod at the same time could cause graphical problems.
