Dark Interval is a restoration/revision mod that lets you play Half-Life 2 as it could have been. Using Valve's early concepts, we're creating new maps, models, textures, and custom dialogue. The mod is released in episodes, the most recent being Dark Interval: Part I - an intro chapter to the bigger story.
Eli's main outpost, hidden beneath the surface of a big junkyard, in some old remnants of an underground complex.
This is a view of the main chamber, where the slideshow will be displayed, shining some light on what happened before, during and after the Combine invasion.
Content shown is work in progress.
beautiful
Looks safe and sound! Or is it?
Great.
Amazing, amazing, AMAZING!
- Osama bin Laden's - hideout
Feels very lived it. Cluttered yet organized chaos.
thats a cozy
******* amazing
I see we're going to get the slideshow explaining backstory :D
Really nice, love the large fans recessed into the wall. The metal sheets and the half buried tube in the bottom of the screenshot are clipping through each other though...
There is no possibility they're unevenly cut bits of metal placed together. I agree. None.
And then voice acting ruins it all. Hope you guys will improve on that.
Well, there are mods with terrible voice acting that everyone loves (like Black Mesa) or there are mods with good voice acting that some will dislike, so no way to please everyone.
Also we're not some professional team nor do we claim to be.
We don't have 20 people enrolled.
We won't be trying to imitate the leak version of the voiceover (neither of the two of them).
Chances are you'll be disappointed if you don't understand what kind of mod/team this is and have unrealistic expectations.
I know the voice I recorded for the vortigaunts wasn't the best and the recording itself was awful but it's still more than 99% of beta mods manage to produce.
At least I can tell you that we'll use a person with a proper recording setup and voice to record Eli. Whether you like the performance will be up to you.
Would you be accepting volunteers?
We'll probably make an article when we need actors
black mesa has terrible voice acting? are you kidding?
If you need a grunty speech voice or Kargyraa throat singing for Vorts/anything, here's a willing volunteer!
Send a sample recording, we'd need to hear your voice and recording quality
The only bad voice acting I've heard so far is the vortigaunts, but that's also because some words seem kinda misused in one or two sentences. Whoever did the voices for Barney and Kleiner did an almost Black Mesa quality job (a really good job).
Every time a new image shows up here I'm just knocked off my feet. This is absolutely incredible!
That is gorgeous. Blends the concept art with the leak map very nicely, which was something I attempted in my version for RTB a few years ago.
I'd live there
Luv it XD
