Just before Holidays, we decided to finally release long awaited Patch 2 for Contra 009 FINAL!
We know that patch 1 was long time ago and you expected patch 2 earlier this year, but we packed so many things into this that at the end it was worth waiting.
This Holiday special bundle includes: reported bug fixes, new artwork, new voices, new general's powers, fixed AI, new maps, new launcher and new VPN!

- Just some of the new artwork!
A lot of in game stuff is changed, from units, effects, to game menu interface. Most of the beautiful stuff you will experience while playing.
However, as usual, here are some new renders of redesigns:
As seen in official videos, Valanx is replaced with Hummer variants. There are 2 random variants with snow version.
Super Weapon and Air Force generals use Hummer-based Avenger
Old Seraph mech is redesigned with concept similar to other angel type units!
GLA Marauder tank is now using its original Zero Hour concept, but much more detailed and improved!
Most of the "spawn" generals powers in game are balanced in such way, that they are dropped by planes. This change affected GLA and for this purpose small cargo plane has been made. Corvus will drop demo traps, acid, toxins and tunnel drillers.
China Gatling defense is also improved visually!
**** For these Holidays we made something even more special for our players. Redesigned Tournament Island map with Christmas details. If you want to have fun with your friends, this map is the best one to start with ****

- Contra is richer by one new dimension now, thanks to voice actors and amazing job they did for so many units: Matthew Vanston (1, 2), Trench Dog (1), Forrest McGilvray, Connor Miranda (1), Cari Scholtens, TryToEpic (1, 2), Kinsmarck (1), Greekas, Caroline Sawatzki, Maelstrom (1)
- Contra Launcher has been reworked to support a new VPN. Once again you have everything you need with one control panel:
Please NOTE that we provide new VPN now, Tinc is replaced with Zero Tier. If you want to use Zero Tier, remove Tinc from your Contra folder and simply paste files provided in Patch2 package!
- Now you can also support us and our work. Contra is larger than before, and includes many collaborators and skilled people who share and sacrifice their free time in order to expand and improve this mod. All the support will be a reward used for further projects and keeping current one alive (such as VPN maintenance)
At the end, once again we want to say thanks to all the good people who voted for Contra in the last MOTY.
It's always good to see that hard work is appreciated, and so it can be this year too.

I'm amazed how your artists manage to pull off textures that feel like they come with a normal map layer, even though it seems it's just thick black lines. That's impressive!

Hello! I play with a friend online on the network and the error is constantly knocking out in the middle of the game "technical difficulties" who knows how to remove it? Patch 2 doesnt even have those countdown timer anymore are you sure you downloaded the mod correctly ?
You must downloaded Contra 009 final > then Patch1 and Patch 2
Don't you know if the latest updated for Windows didn't **** up Generals again?
Because I had a functioning installations for various mods and now none of them work. It's not a CONTRA issue, ROTR, TEOD and Shockwave don't work either.
EDIT: Nevermind. I restarted my PC and it all works again. It was the technical difficulties error, but it's gone now.
I wish I knew how to create an animation for the Navy seal to make them rappel at a targeted building and make them swim
So there's some tooltip missing, on both Contra addons and the edited originals. Any solutions?

Make the SEALs snipers like the Chinese snipers and allow them to climb and swim. Maybe set up bombs like the Chinese rocket soldiers. Maybe only 5 at a time for balance? 10 but longer count down? Please? That would be so freakin cool! Or make a special forces USA general. :D
I don't think that would be a good idea, that would make the SEALs overpowered and they're already tough to kill.
Just make them snipers like China's snipers, then? Or maybe just half of them? 😁 😁 😁
Like I said, it's not a good idea. Imagine if said SEALs were on the enemy side, you'd literally find yourself with multiple Jarmen Kells.

It makes more sense than the generic looks. After all, they are angels. Also, the insolent attitude is really unnecessary.

It's a false positive. Flag the files as an exception for your antivirus.

hey everyone , i have a problem which is , when i'm playing then i click the windows button in my keyboard to quit to desktop , and then i go back to the game , sounds and voices won't work , until i go to settings and then click the accept button like i have changed the volume level , and then sounds will work again .
actually i could deal with that a little bit , and do these steps every single time.
but the big issue is , when i change the game resolution in the contra launcher / more options , and start the game with that resolution , it will not be the same resolution inside the game settings , it will be 800 x 600 and not the resolution that i selected , so when i click accept inside the in game settings to reactivate the sounds , it'll change the resolution too , and the game will crash , and most of the time i'll have to reboot my pc .
i tried to be as clear as possible , please help me
Download and install GenTool: Gentool.net
It will fix the resolution bug.
If the game crashes on game minimization, run the game in Windowed Borderless mode (you can set that in GenTool menu in-game). Press the Insert key on your keyboard to bring up the GenTool menu.

Yes, Gentool works with Patch 2.
As for this this error popup, your installation may be corrupted.
to be honest , i have being facing this error for years from contra 007 to this 009 patch and in many computers i have used before
if possible can you give me the instructions or a link to a video with the right installation instructions coz it pops up from out of nowhere
