This mod adds a fictional version of the Great Zimbabwe kingdom to the native Calradia. It is NOT historical. It is an adaptation to suit the gameplay of warband. This mod adds new unique locations, and interiors. Right now all the villages are unique. The towns and castles are all the same though. No new armors have been added yet. This mod will continue to be developed until December 31 2023 where I plan to finish it.
1. All castle and town scenes are completely reworked with brand new assets. And they have AI meshes now so the npcs will behave properly. all the castles have unique interiors too. the tavern is still the same though but it was slightly updated. There is also a new shop and prison interior. The arena has also been reworked too. Here are some screenshots:
2. Brand new clothes have been added. And the old clothes are fixed too. The noble ladies are still bugged :( but that will be my priority to fix next update. Sometime next weak. The weapon models for the sword, spear and club have been fixed. too. I've decided that the Zimbabwean troops will use mercenary armor. The lore is that the Zimbabweans saw that their robes did not provide a good enough defense against their new enemies in calradia so they adopted mercenary gear. The Zimbabwean tribesman will wear their robes however. Here are some pics
3. The overworld map has been changed. The kingdom area now has forests and the river border has been removed as per some suggestions. New custom map icons have been added. Special thanks to DouwFR for helping me make the map icons. Here are some pics :
I'm going to be adding a new main story quest to the mod to entice new players to try the mod. It will touch on the Zimbabwean people learning their place in calradia as a weak kingdom, and them having to adapt to the technologies of their neighboring kingdoms (mainly armor). There will be themes on traditions and breaking away from them. The player's story will be about them having to uncover an underground slave ring to find and kill someone who betrayed them. there will be many side quests too.

Is there a reason why the spears are restricted to only be an infantry weapon? they don't seem big enought to make using them on horseback unwieldy
Actually there is no horse using units for the faction. They are like the Rodohks. No horsemen.
I was talking about player use but I just noticed there's more spears because for some reason the game decided that only the pike would appear in stores in my test character
Oh I didnt know that. Ill fix it when I have time. Thanks for letting me know
As well I've a mod which some of the stuff could be useful to u, u can use them if u want as long as u credit the mod :)

there are lot of OSP rotting around done by people who knows 3d but sadly not codding, if u spend a few hours looking stuff in NexusMods and Talewords u will find pretty amazing items.
Btw, they have more than what show in the images of course
It's very promising! Good luck with this mod! The scenes of African villages/towns/castles bring a certain breath of fresh air to the game.
For my own mod, I initially also wanted to add a kingdom inspired by Southern Africa, but I couldn't find any assets other than the Sarranids. If you ever plan on making your assets OSP, I would be happy to include them in V3 of my mod :)
I don't know what OSP means but everyone is free to use the assets I make for this particular mod. So go wild I guess. If you want I could even help you make new assets for your mod regarding the southern african inspired faction. Gotta practice my 3d modelling skills somehow.
OSP is the term used by the modders to refer to assets that everyone is free to use (so yes, we can say your assets are OSP :) ; thank you) I think it means something like "open-source product".
My mod is "Calradia's Borderlands" where several factions are added to Calradia in order to give more different cultures and factions. So, the target is exactly the same : adding a complete new kingdom like you began to do in your mod. 3 different cities, 6 or 7 castle and 20 villages, ideally all different but using a reasonable amount of asset (performance issue). And some typical equipment to complete that and it will be perfect.
But i have far less time than before to mod, so just take your time with yours and I will use the assets when it they will be finished and credit you for the V3 of my mod, which should be released in a long long time (maybe six months at least)
