A few years have passed since the Earth have become enslaved by the aliens. Now most of the people are altered genetically and are known as "Synthetes". Cities were turned into separate colonies, and the whole Earth was shaken by irreversible consequences of anti-gravity- or stasis-based zones appearing here and there, wastelands growing rife with predators, factories and glass domes, and onslaught of the deep forest against the territory claimed prevously by the humanity. Two suns and several moons in the sky are the bodies to glow upon all this. Earth is not dead for now, yet changed beyond recognition. The player character is Sgt. Mitchell, the protagonist of Part 1. He wakes up in a train many years later, with no memories of the past aside for some remaining streaks about long gone Old Earth and with a Goddess haunting his mind; no current means could help him understand if she is a mere fantasy or an another anomaly of the new world.

To all of those who used to work with CryEngine.
Crytek is about to destroy the archive of CryMod.com and CryDev.net, which contains the community forums made since 2007. CryMod.com commmunity portal has existed from the very beginning of CryEngine 2 modding, it had its own community-made CryWiki with hundreds of articles, and community filebase, containing hundreds of maps, mods, game resources. It was renamed into CryDev.net in 2010 to suit the needs of CryEngine 3 modding and game making, and it was then the first time when all the forum links were broken. A year later they cut off the community filebase and CryWiki, without giving anyone a notice, potentially destroying an unknown amount of invaluable community-made CryEngine knowledge and assets. Then they remade a website engine in 2013 again, changed domain to cryengine.com, thus breaking the forum links again. Then in 2016, together with selling CE3 to Amazon (and release of CryEngine 5) they moved all the old forums into a website part called "Community Archive". Few years later they are going to completely destroy this last remaining piece of once-gorgeous "CryEngine Modding Portal", leading to the loss of all accumulated knowledge about CryEngine 2 and CryEngine 3 for the last 12 years!
