The Leizi (Lightning Goddess) is an advanced, direct-energy weapon-based tank that excels in the destruction of heavily armored vehicles and aircraft.

During the last Great War the Soviet Union deployed a number of experimental weapons in an attempt to ward off defeat. These included the tesla coil, tesla tank and shock trooper. Based on the theories of Nikola Tesla, these weapons could quickly vaporize ground units. Although initially a great bane to Allied forces, several countermeasures were developed during the war including airborne assault by Apache helicopters and long range bombardment by allied destroyers and cruisers. Some reports have even stated that the Allies sent thousands of ‘volunteers’ to overload the lightly armored coils equipment.

Following the end of the war, captured Soviet equipment was mostly shipped to the USA for study or decommissioned by Allied forces. A small stockpile of these weapons would later be acquired by Chinese forces.

Whilst the unorthodox nature of the weapon makes it unsuitable for mainstream use, it is rumoured that the Night Tiger (夜老虎, also called Special Warfare Brigade of Peng Xuefeng, 雪枫特战旅) has recently deployed an advanced tesla tank.

The Leizi is an advanced anti-armor vehicle which replaces the Raybolt. It can only be built by authorized Experimental branch commanders. Its tesla cannon unleashes a torrent of electrical energy which overloads the electrical systems, fuel and ammo reserves of vehicles and even aircraft. The Leizi is especially effective against groups of vehicles, as the tesla bolt will ‘arc’ between targets.

Heavy tanks, gunships, bombers and advanced artillery systems are especially vulnerable to the tesla cannon. Lighter vehicles and infantry can avoid a direct hit from the electrical weapon whilst structures are grounded enough to avoid excessive damage.
