Boramae (Korean: 보라매, literally 'young hawk' or 'eyas') is a twin-engine jet aircraft developed in Korea.
Following the end of the last Great War, the Chinese obtained several MiG fighter jets which were shipped to Korea for evaluation and testing.
As one of the first supersonic aircraft to be deployed in combat, the MiG was a revolutionary design.
Since the Dead Zone incident, several MiG variants have been discovered by the PRA. Some had the markings of a red star whilst others appeared to be from a timeline where the former Soviet Union still exists. Regardless of its origin, this new aircraft is distinct from its MiG heritage, and this is reflected by its Boramae naming.
It was designed to support PRA ground forces by destroying fortified installations and clusters of heavily entrenched enemy armor. Equipped with five concrete-piercing bombs that cluster burst over a target, the Boramae is frequently deployed for carpet bombing missions.
The Boramae is the standard bomber of the PRA armed forces and is highly effective against structures and groups of units. Whilst the bomber is somewhat resistant to basic AA weapons, the heavy AA guns deployed in enemy bases and advanced units can pose a serious threat to the Boramae.
