the 4th Era Retexture Project was made to bring the Elder Scrolls Total War into the 4th era with new lore friendly(ish) units for each faction of the original mod for the new time period.
In that order.
Then install MY submod on top (after) of both of these!
4th Era 1.0 Features
Retextures and Renames (Most Units in...):
- Clan of the Forebears
- Clan of the Crowned
- Kingdom of Wayrest
- Kingdom of Daggerfall
- Kingdom of Skyrim
- Tamriel Empire
A full overview of the new units can be seen here in this video made by yours truly (ITS A VERY BAD VIDEO):
But in case you didn't watch the whole thing I'll give you a rundown of the most important information.
Firstly, I want to discuss my involvement in the Unofficial Patch Team. I am mostly doing the same thing that I am on this mod. Creating new units, retexturing units and things along those lines. The unofficial team will be working extremely hard after the 1.4 update of TES:TW to balance, retexture and adjust new units and to create a whole plethera of new content like new, custom campaigns and new factions etc. GET EXCITED. So after 1.4 continue to download the latest patches on the Unofficial Patch to get the newest, hottest tamriel units and textures. I doubt I will keep updating this mod as some of my works on this mod will be implemented into the unofficial patch after September 1st anyway. That is the plan anyway.
Next I want to talk about the future of this here mod. I will strive to complete all remaining factions so
- All of the Dark Elves (Minus the Ashlanders because they are being retextured by Rafmc for the unofficial to be released in september)
- Some units in the Aldmeri Dominion
- Most Units in the Argonian Tribes and The Khajit Kingdoms.
Then when I am working on the unofficial patch team full time I am going to be creating all new units like the Penitus Oculatus and much more. Suggestions should be sent to me on moddb, my email (kmartdsign@gmail.com) or my total war center account.
Lastly my thanks and sappy stuff.
I want to thank the multiple mod teams that have made the base mods this sub-mod is based on. The enthusiastic community behind these mods including people like Alphonse12 and Rafmc. And finally Pixelated Apollo (who probably wont see this but whatever) for exposing my sub-mod to his audience.
Step 1: Install both the latest TES:TW and the latest TES:TW Unofficial Patch (found at top of article)
Step 2: Go to addons and click on 4th Era Retexture 1.0 then download.
Step 3: Extract the winrar file on your desktop.
Step 4: Navigate to your mods folder in your M2TW folder
Step 5: Take your 4th Era 1.0 open it and copy "The_Elder_Scrolls"
Step 6: Paste it in your M2TW mods folder.
Done. If you have any issues, suggestions or gripes again please message me here on Moddb, my email (kmartdsign@gmail.com) or my TWC account.
Protect those knees from arrows and things, enjoy the mod and good day stranger.
Mirror Uploads for mega etc. some people mentioned that their downloads weren't working.
1.1 update of the Bretons is now out with some aesthetic changes and slight fixes (I Hope).
It's here... ish. 7 Factions in and i decided it was time to bunch these into one. New unit names as well!
This can be installed on top of your previous version or alone!
Both redguard factions are covered in this one and they get extra spicy body guards. Mostly just a recoloration.
This can be installed on top of your previous version or alone! MAJOR FIXES
This can be installed on top of your previous version or alone! Nothing really new here just some touch ups.
This changes the shield textures to make it more uniform across the army of skyrim! Sorry for the length of time between each update.

Have you guys heard that a Fourth-Era campaign is being added to 2.0 alongside the the Third Era Campaign? This is wonderful news.
Hello, love the work when I played it before, so thats why im wondering is it compatible with the latest version?
Thanks :)
Uhm Is this compatible with the new version of TESTW?
Jkmart!
Ready to deliver the contents of the 4th era submod?
Hurry up that we need to merge the different sources and get organized for later! ;))
Hi, first thing I want to say that your mod is great, I really like new textures with Redguards beign my favorite.
I watched your video and I hear that you dont want to retexture orcs because they look fine. You are probably right, but I wanted to suggest some retextures that you would like.
First, the heavy armor (Orsinium) units. Skyrim textures look great, but there would be something better. In Skyrim orcs don't have kingdom that advanced like in 3rd Era, so there is less decorative and more usability. But in Total War, they managed to get their kingdom and resources, so maybe give them some modern look. I was thinking about to give heavy armor texture form ESO, specifically this one: Orcz.com. Looks good enough, give feeling that orcs began to "modernise" from Malacath influence to Trinimac (in-game its their religion, atleast in total war and patch 1.3) and should fit on model, but retexture would take some time. You could also use that steel-looking armor that one of Orc portrait has in ES: Legends: En.uesp.net.
It would be used as both regular heavy troop (Legends one) and bodyguard unit (ESO one), or give bodyguard some form of tabard or cloak with their banner to distinguish them.
Next are medium armor (orc) units. Maybe thats my opinion, but their texture look little messy and would be more HD-fided to something like this: Tesrenewal.com. It also would fit the model and probably would look better.
To end the post, it's only a suggestion and I don't have that much artistic view but I think that Orcs would look better. Keep up good work!
Who thinks we need a fourm?
Just stumbled upon Morrowind Total War and remembered some (if not most) of it's assets made it into TESTW mod. The Imperial Armor in Morrowind is quite Roman-like and decadent, but I'm unsure is it fits the desired style. Always preferred Skyrim's Imperials anyhow due to it's gritty-ness.
As already said, well done... Keep going on the same level.
And you already know the next tasks ;)
Premision to engage hype protocols?
Ahaha the hype is gonna soon terminate, on 1st september the TES landing will be! (and then we'll go on with tweaks and external merging, as for this mod for ex.) ;)
PREPARE THE MEAD AND ALE!
Serious question; you guys need any help with anything on the writing/translation side of things? I'd be honored to help in any way I can.
Look, might be the case later on.
We plan to add a tons of RPG scripts and RPG events to the campaign (to icrease the fun), hence a support with the texts of these additional features could help.. we'll see :)
Well, You need only call on me, and I will be there to help as best I can.
