For anyone wanting to get rid of the smoke, but has addons like EFT Reposition, here is what you should do...
- Open each shotgun file from the conflicting addon ( with WinMerge or Notepad ) and add a semicolon ( ; ) in front of the following lines:
smoke_particles
silencer_smoke_particles ( only if the shotgun can actually mount a supressor )

Pls have a look at the Controller Overhaul Patch. It seems to be broken and that's evident in-game.

Just like Bruno Agostini, I use Grok's BHS and tried to overwrite its ui_actor_hint_wnd.dds.
The problem is that the Psy and Health bars kept in your addon dds file will show up glitched among BHS HUD boxes ( Going back to Bruno's pictures, the health one being above the human icon and the psy bar stretched out above the stamina bar 'till the ammo box ).
