The mod race that's on at the moment is a bit like the old arms race. Who will win? CWC, ROTR, Delta, GC, Contra 006, Remix 3 v3, or TAOW? None has a release date yet. Contra 006 is the closest to completion, but while the hare naps, the tortoise may overtake!

Ah, the Cold War - those were the days. I still have fond memories of it's last days from my early childhood. It was all about typewriters and paranoia. One of my favourite books when I was little was one that got written off from the school library in 1991: The Observer's Soviet Aircraft Directory.

There you go - you already have an idea for your next mod! Incidentally, there was a Nazi general called Klaus Barbie, also known as the Butcher of Lyon.

2. Variety (among factions, units, etc.).
3. Completeness (don't skimp on the AI like they did in Contra Remix 3).

So like, how come the Chinese aren't fighting with the Russians? If Russia turns communist...? Is the idea meant to be everyone against Russia? That's a bit unfair.

ICBM is a small nuclear missile, and the Superweapon General's secondary superweapon. The building is quite small, only taking up around the same amount of area as a Supply Drop Zone.

If games were completely about real life, it would suck to play them. Take CS, for example - it would suck if you couldn't even walk after having been shot in the leg, and if you had to keep oiling your gun and cleaning the visor on your helmet. There needs to be a balance between realism and enjoyment.

Funny you should mention Contra Remix. As cool as that appeared, I never bothered to download it, because apparently only the Cyber General had AI. Forget remix - Contra 006 is gonna be cool-bananas (Have you seen the skin of the Assault General's Demolisher?). And by the looks of it, I think they're gonna bring it out quite soon. Any day now...

Yeah, I see what you mean about release dates. People sometimes get so impatient that they forget how much work goes into a mod. Thanks for your prompt and informative reply!

Yeah, I know what you mean! A lot of the ZH mods that are in development feature the same old heavies: USA (As if they would go to war again so soon after Iraq!), China, Russia. That's why I'm looking forward to this mod so much: because it has Iran and Iraq, which nobody else has done/is doing. Iran is a full-on military power, like India, so it makes a lot of sense to have them in a mod.

How come nobody's doing an India vs Pakistan mod? Makes as much sense as Israel vs Syria!

"Mod will be release [sic] in 2 weeks." Well it's been two weeks... I hope 006 is on its way - the skins look awesome! I also hope that when it comes, it's a bit more stable than 005, which I thought would have been the best mod ever made in the history of humankind, if only it didn't crash so often.

It shouldn't be USA vs Russia; it should be USA vs USSR - a minor technicality. Anyhow, I very much look forward to this mod. Looks pretty realistic. Maybe you guys should give us a rough predicted release date, like the Global Conflict guys have. Even if things don't go according to plan, you can always change it later.
