Interesting idea this community update.

As a suggestion i would recommend the inclusion of the OpenAL Soft as discussed there a couple of years ago:

Would be a good idea as it actually fixes some sound crash sources (the helicopter one by example) from CotZ that are badly managed by the sound engine in CotZ (and from memories some stalker standalone mods are using OpenAL Soft), i'm pretty sure DoctorX would have included that in future updates if he didn't passed away sadly.

I had never heard about this mod before and just gave a try with dark crusade.
And it's just fantastic, Cinematic Battles changes the gameplay so much it feels nearly like a different game that focus a lot more on massive battles.

Congratulations on this amazing mod and thank you for supporting the old dark crusade after all those years !

cam_inert 0 will only tone down a bit the head bob, it will not disable it or soften it. This command is only controlling the amount of camera inertia during the movements, it does not control the head bob (that is defined in the effectors.ltx that this addon modify)

From what i remember in Call of the Zone when a task have you looking for a specific item, the item location is never where the pointer is on the PDA, the item in fact spawn randomly in a 50/100 meters radius area around that quest target.

Making it something very hard to find (especially in heavy grass areas when said item is very small.

What can help is asking some npc when you have this kind of mission, they can be temporarly hired to help you find that item, when you'll walk around the target area they'll tell you where the item is exactly .

That's a good idea, in some mods like OGSR the helicopters are flying lower without problem.
If i can find where exactly the altitude is defined (there are several scripts and they seems hard to understand for me), that would make for an interesting addon.
Too bad i can't reverse the atmosfear change to the engine itself.
I dislike atmosfear personnally, i think they should never have merged it into the call of chernobyl engine and only let it as a mod like it was in Call of Pripyat .
it's one of the reason i wanted to make this addon.

No worry, i had compressed it myself before uploading the new version of the addon, i usually move every dds (either from terrain/building/etc.. textures) i use through this to optimise them.

For the size i don't know, on my game it seems good enough but maybe it's because i don't play on very high resolution so the icon scales more correctly ?

good points, for the SPAS12 in full auto unfortunately i can't do anything as it's how KingFriday (the original COP addon animator) decided it should be and i unfortunately am clueless at animating stalker models.
But for the sounds and out of sync, the addon is now updated to

version v2

unfortunately several reloading animation were out of sync with the default sounds
re-implemented the SRAP2 sounds to fix that problem
re-implemented the SRAP2 knife animation
added optional original knife animation (was the one from version v1)
added optional COTZ shots sounds (so if you don't like the SRAP shot sounds you can get back to the CotZ ones that were used in v1, don't worry the reloading is still working correctly in sync)
fixed a bug with the gauss not correctly oriented if not playing in 16:9 resolution

That's right, i usually play without helicopters (due to some crash happening sometime with their gun sounds if you don't add openalSoft sounds described on the forum) but after retrying with them they can be hard to see, unfortunate side effect of the CoC engine having integrated the atmosfear rendering by default.

Anyways, updated to version 2.33
Version 2.33 :
re-added "Optional 500m view" that push the view a bit further than the default Call of Pripyat one
the fog variant also has an optional 500m view too.

About your problem with Kruglov (the mechanic in CotZ) locked in the side bunkers in Yantar, i think i found a solution :
Edit the file
gamedata\configs\misc\squad_descr_yantar.ltx

(the CotZ default one on pastebin : Pastebin.com )

And in the the entry "[yan_ecolog_kruglov_squad]"
change the line
target_smart = yan_smart_terrain_6_6
into
target_smart = yan_smart_terrain_6_4

From my tests after this change, Kruglov is now roaming around the bunker (well outside its walls sometime). Try with other target_smart to see if there's a better one

My condolences to you and your family, DoctorX has contributed into providing a lot of fun to people through his work on those various games like Call of the Zone.
Something that's worth a lot considering how though life can be, every minutes of joy and fun gives some light.

He'll be remembered and missed by so many, i pray he is at peace in Heaven.

Go to your ...\OGSR Mod\gamedata\config\misc\ directory
(if there's no \config\misc\ folders , create them)

In there create a new text file.

In that new text file, paste what you previously copied, then close and save the changes.
change the name of the text file from whateveritis.txt into exactly :
effectors.ltx

(not effectors.ltx.txt , it -must- be effectors.ltx )
That should be all to disable the headbob

added "Optional No RED in emissions" that allows the user to remove the red sky and red lights all around at the peak of the emissions.
Better for the eyes for people that were annoyed by the default COP emissions.

Those objects should be in items_quest.ltx located in ...\configs\items\

changing the quest_item = true into quest_item = false for the objects you want to be able to drop should be enough.

For the faction power difference, i think you can even out the playfield by editing the file sim_offline_control.script that is located in ...\gamedata\scripts\
There are a "faction_boost" setting for each factions, though according to what i see there, it seems Monolith is the most powerfull, and Duty/Freedom/Military are 2nd most powerfull (all 3 of them have the same power boost).
After that what may make the difference is where each bases are located in comparison to ressources/territories.

For the mutant , the problem is indeed that NPC can capture lairs. I'm trying to understand the scripts better so i can get a "lair can't be captured" option, but so far it is a bit above my head.

A couple of bug reports :

- In Darkscape, the quest at the sawmill in which you have a few artifacts hunters facing several bandits, i decided to choose to kill all the bandits. Once it was done, when i went back to talk to the artifact hunters leader, i select the dialogue that ask the leader if "he and is men are doing well" to get the reward and complete his task.

But doing so i lose access to the other dialogue option (there is only "See you" in his dialogue after that) to progress the other quest, so you have to ask first about the other task (i think it was to find the hunter), then you ask for the "are you all doing well" to complete the artifact leader own task.

Annoying if you didn't had a quicksave from before.

- a broken task, before going to LabX16 i noticed it started raining, so i hurried around a few map in the hope to find the Firefly artifact (a task given by the dead stalker in LabX18) .
On my way to check the Military Warehouse swamp near Freedom Base, i ran into the ill stalkers that triggered a task to find a doctor, doctor that had been abducted by a mercenary group in Darkscape (good the guide at the Bar entrance could get me there easily).
Normally in OGSE , you talk to the merc leader , he gives you a detonator, you wait until an officer drive past and tirgger the explosion to force a military officer van to stop.
Then you capture him and complete the quest.
But in this version of OGSR, when you talk to the merc leader and accept his quest, the task immediately complete (you don't recieve the detonator) and there's a message telling you the officer has escaped , so you're only left with destroying the BTR trying to rescue the officer.
But neither vehicles (they're both spawned near each other) will ever move.
Even if you destroy the BTR, as the officer has automatically escaped, you will fail the quest and can't rescue the doctor, failing the ill stalker quest completely (it's even worse because there's no alternative : you can't kill the merc leader because there is obviously some immortal script or unbeatable level of protection to prevent you to kill him, 20 VOG-25 (without jobking) in his face and he's still running)

I used it to check the configs and scripts files so i could lessen the grenade spam and npc accuracy. But in the archive only use the STALKER_Data_Unpacker_RU.exe , the english one doesn't work well.

Additionally when unpacking an OGSR file, add .db at the end of the file or the unpacker can't see it.

It's strange as if you moved the gamedata the texture should be at its correct location, the texture responsible for the zone capture is ui_news_pda.dds that is found in
...\gamedata\textures\ui\

But are you by any chances using the "EOC Lite" ?
EOC Lite does not feature the capture zones (as the capture system is supposed to be a feature of the full EOC only)

Unfortunately it's beyond my scripting very poor skills, i tried to port it into CotZ for months (because i really CotZ) but it never worked at all. I hope someone with a lot more scripting knowledge will one day be interested to port it, it's such a fun addon.

Good luck on this, i would really love to play Extended Offline on CotZ, as it's lots of fun in CoC.
My own attempts (with using a lot the Compare plugin for Notepad++ to compare the difference between the addon and CotZ own ltx) to port it always failed as i'm unfortunately not knowledgable enough in scripting to merge it correctly (as in the game not just crashing before the main menu for reason i couldn't debug).

I've been wanting to replay OGSR recently and after downloading this O.G.S.R. 1.0.10 so far (still in Cordon, just started the "find the flash drives" quest) i seem to have better performance with this version.

Anyone has heard anything more about the possible update to CoC that was mentionned some pages ago, when xr_sanya mentionned in February in the ap-pro.ru board that he gave his 1.5r7 source code to Bangalore (that is a member of Team Epic) that was asking for it ?
