Just wanted to inform any potential downloaders of the settings I use with this mod.
6.5 for health and damage on both positive and negative sides. up to 12 times for each of those. 0 in every slot that has to do with jump height or movement speed. 0 in each of the "how many kills until it takes effect" slots. It feels just right to me. The default settings are good too, but this is what works for me.
This is actually a great idea. One of those "why didn't I think of that?" things.
Honestly, I expect the same reaction from the community as before. They probably are handling it better this time, but it hinges on the fact that they're gonna start charging for something that is currently free. I'd be fine with it if people weren't gonna charge 80% more than they need to. If Bethesda is deciding the pricing and the pricing is LOW ENOUGH then it'll be worth it. A $3 mod should NEVER be charging $20.
higher-level enemies are colored. blue is the 1st level above having no special coloration at all.
The shotgun guard is blue here because he's higher level.
Look up rich's quake 2 executable. Or other alternative quake 2 executables. The Steam version's quake 2 executable may be causing a problem. I always had mods work well with Rich's quake 2 .exe. Look up "R1Q2" or "Rich's quake 2". I guess I'll find a link to it and post another document here linking to it.

I loved giex, even more than vortex mod. Unfortunately, this download seems to only be a pak9 file. The proper mod .dll is not here. I tested it. A sad loss. I may have giex mod on a CD somewhere. I don't think any copies exist of this mod. I'm just glad we have various shooter-RPGs amongst modern gaming. Too bad most of them are heavily slowed-down compared to quake.

I just got Ghost Recon 1 on Steam about a month ago. I only tried it out then but now I really got into it thanks to a great Steam review that mentioned this mod. This turned out as great as I hoped it would be. Truly awesome, great job!

An absolute classic. Truly amazing. Still has some features that I haven't seen in modern games.
The mod has bots. It can never die. I'm redownloading it right now even. Bots are so reliable.

Weapon and ammo management (and health management even) ARE the knowledge and expertise in an arena shooter. Quake III has a similar experience. You must time pickups so that you get them as they spawn, and you must remember where each pickup is. This is a 2nd layer of tactics and skill on top of simply shooting your opponent. I like arena modes, but I'd say that removing pickup management is actually reducing the knowledge and expertise potential.
Why do people have to reference old games... GTA doesn't belong here. This a TOP DOWN VIEW. All game design concepts stand on their own and don't need game name drops.

All bf2 mods were always so similar to the original game.... Highlighting how samey everything had become with semirealistic shooters back in 2006 & 2007 when I first tried all these bf2 mods. Honestly, I like to see new ideas from mods not an endless stream of maps and reskins all with the same functionality.
Unreal Tournament has given me the greatest videogame experience ever. That of playing against bots with mods combined and customized as I desire. Playing whatever I wanted however I wanted. True freedom and fun action. This should be the standard of fps. Not this uncreative movie-plagiarizing drama BS. Not being stuck with only one aesthetic, modern military. The freedom to have ALL aesthetic and gameplay styles! Customized AS YOU WISH! With bots always reliably available to play! CUSTOMIZATION FREEDOM AND FUN ACTION! Where are the developers to make this? THIS IS THE MOST FUN WAY TO PLAY FPS!
so... we have something turning alien swarm into more of a counter-strike-style game. Every game's most popular mod is basically counter-strike. The hell people, don't you like good, genuinely new game ideas? Not that many mods come out with those really...
