The Dynamic Arena is a mutator, compatible with any gametypes, that acts as a standard arena, which relies more on player's skills rather than on weapon and pickup management.

But, to make things more dynamic, which is the mod's main purpose, it'll change the current arena weapon at specfic time intervals for all players at once. The standard time is 15 seconds, but you can change that through the mod menu.

You can also specify how much ammo players are gonna receive when getting new weapons, and choose wheter the redeemer will be removed or not, or the translocator as well (since it's important for Capture the Flag and Domination, it might be a good idea to keep it).

You can also make it hardcore by removing items, armor and pickups.

Finally, you can opt to create your own custom weapon list, which can include any custom weapon mods you have, and create your personal selection to be used in the weapon cycles.

Weapon and ammo management (and health management even) ARE the knowledge and expertise in an arena shooter. Quake III has a similar experience. You must time pickups so that you get them as they spawn, and you must remember where each pickup is. This is a 2nd layer of tactics and skill on top of simply shooting your opponent. I like arena modes, but I'd say that removing pickup management is actually reducing the knowledge and expertise potential.

It's just one of the knowledge involved in those games. But there's also the knowledge of physics and weapons, as well as the ability to aim, move, predict and engage, which are what remains when you're playing an arena match.

As you know, I didn't invent the arena type, I just tried to make it less repetitive by turning it into smaller cycles during a match. Maybe the "flavor text" of the mod sounded a little offensive to you, I'm sorry for that.

If you really wanna keep the pickup management and enjoy it, you can still allow items to be picked up, such as armor, health and power ups, it's up to you.

It's still one of the mods I enjoy most while playing the game.
