I was looking forward to this... looks like it's dead as a door knob. The mod must be dead. What a shame.

It's a shame there are no players! I've been poking around in this mod offline and it's freaking awesome! I'd love to play this on a full server or even a small server. Come on, people.
I just discovered this mod because it was in the top 100. I installed 2142, downloaded the mod, launched it and there are only three servers up with no people playing. When is a good time to play?
I have a GTX 275, 4GB of RAM and a decent CPU. I think I've met the minimum requirements for this game :P I don't think my hardware has anything to do with it.
This mod still crashes for me every time I play it. I reinstalled M&B, reinstalled the mod... I tried running it in XP compatibility mode, I tried most other things suggested on the forums. Nothing works. After about five minutes of play time (or less), it just crashes. Any ideas?
I tried everything... I turned the graphics settings down, I changed the resolution. It doesn't seem to matter. After a minute or two in game it just goes straight back to desktop.
This mod is great but it crashes every five minutes for me :( I can't really play it.
I kind of got it working... I think it was just the map the server was on. Anyway, seems to be a really good game! It's still very beta but it's way more promising than most. Just keep polishing it!
If only there were other people to play with... :(
Hey, it's not working for me. I tried connecting to the one server that was up (it's empty) and I get a "client has been dropped" or some such error. I tried playing offline by using the map_ command and tried creating a game as well to no success. I used the .rar file.
The coder gave up on the game and the team is so tight it's difficult to replace him. If the coder decides to spend some of his free time on the thing, then there will be an update. If not, then the mod is dead. It's a shame because it's one of the best Source mods out and it has no players because it was just abandoned... there are a ton of unreleased maps, as well!
Just want you to know that you're doing a fantastic job, mate!
Don't listen to the critics. You did the right thing by labeling it Alpha and because of that they really shouldn't be ramming opinions down your throat this early on.
So far this is shaping up to be a really good game and the high quality of the models, textures, environments and effects is really showing through, despite it being an Alpha. Keep up the good work!
Maybe Valve contacted them... they could be releasing it for purchase or as a free game like Alien Swarm.
It would explain everything.
From what I've heard from the community as a whole, from players I know who are really into INS and from their forums...
The mod is pretty much dead. Some of the Devs were caught talking about what they'd do with the mod now that it's dead and unfortunately it doesn't look like they're going to let anyone else take over.
There might be some more small updates in the future but don't expect an Orange Box release. I suspect they'll just move more community maps to official maps and be done with it. Shame, shame.
Really nice preview of what's to come... I'm going to be watching this game, now!
It doesn't run very well on my system... I have a pretty decent right with a GTX 275. The framerate is stable on high resolution but the mouse is very delayed (happens with Unreal Engine III games).
Any tips to make it more responsive?
Is it unresponsive more or less because it's not optimized or because it's just plain heavy?
Best Dev team, ever! These patches just keep coming and coming. This one looks like a hit!
Kudos!
I have my own PC. I bought it with the money that I earned from having a job. Nice how that works.
Why do people always pronounce melee wrong! He did it in the last video. Its pronounced "maylay", not "mi-li".
Sweeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee
I can feel it! So close...
NeoTokyo preview is up here:
Quite possibly the most gleaming preview I've read in a long time. Gogogo!
They're FREEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE...
Download them both you dolt! :)
Tokoya: "Big boys" know the importance of constructive criticism. Crybabies make stupid little knee-jerk comments of no value.
Looking forward to Dead Before Dawn... but like many, I think that Neotokyo should have won. The game has been in development for a lot longer and has a lot more going for it in terms of originality, creativity and overall content.
Oh well, one shouldn't put much stock into popularity contests anyway. Good job, developers!
Hey! Games like this need to be made. You're a pioneer.
Congrats and keep up the good work! Can't wait to try it.
