Bully: Source won an award at the BT Young Scientist 2009:
3rd Place Individual, Intermediate in the Technology Section.
Bully: Source is a computer game created for the BT Young Scientist 2009. In my project I have created a realistic mod that teaches students different aspects of bullying, and how they should deal with different cases. My mod also shows that computer games can help in other aspects of teaching such as learning how to keep your school tidy etc... Although I have spent three months on this project the game itself is only 5 minutes long. This is because Judges at the Young Scientist may not spend much longer looking at the game.
I have used this game as a learning curve to learn about the half life engine itself, and mainly aspects of Level Design that I have neglected in previous maps, such as I/O triggering, Screen overlays, Game_Ui's and some areas of lighting.
Although this game is due to be released the day of the Exibition, I plan on further evolving this project after the exibition itself. I have used most of the models of characters and props from the original Half-Life 2 game, As you can see Alyx, Mossman, and Kleiner appear in the game, only with cleaner skins. I have tested 36 students with this game, and I have proven to have sucessfully thought them new aspects of bullying.
I've heard about SteamWorks, and doubt that this project would go through, but it is my ambition to be able to evolve this mod, and get modelers to model students etc.. So I can then present it to a wider audience, and schools across ireland.. (This is only my ambition of course).

Thank you all for having some intrest!

Hey guys!
This is just a quick news report to say that I'm packing away the mod so I can upload it within the next hour. I would like to first apologise for the late upload, as we had some huge problems between both the mod and my connection.
I would secondly like to state, this game is NOT like the game "Bully: Scholarship Edition". You cannot bully other students, this game is an education modification to aid in teaching students from 10-16 about the effects of bullying.
Finally, Bully: Source was created over a period of 4-5 months. In other words, the modification isn't that long, and I may chose to continue it's creation into a bigger, larger mod. I may higher a modeler to create actual students etc...
I would like to thank you all for your support, I wasn't expecting a lot from you guys at ModDB, but you've supported me more than a lot of other people,
So thank you,
Scott "Sythen" Baker.
The upload for Bully:Source has been delayed due to some internet problems with my ISP...
i take no credit for map or anything else sythen mad in his mode.
This the upload of the modification "Bully: Source" for Half-Life 2.
Hey there! When I first played this I expected something totally different than what I was really getting into. While I don't consider this a mod, playing it has been an enjoyable experience nonetheless. It's weird, unique, and I'll probably never see another mod like it. Good work!
Here's a walkthrough video I made of your game, please feel free to use the footage for whatever!
Is this has relations with Bully, a game made by Rockstar Games?
You need to change where you can download it from because for some reason gamefront.com crashes my comp
Hey there guys,
This game itself has had mixed reviews, from googling it today for the first time in 4 years, I've come across people who think the Modification itself is worthless, and "Should not be called a Mod." Others have said that they enjoyed the concept, the idea but the implementation could be much better.
It's been 4 years since I posted this game, and since then (it being my first Modification) I have gained more experience since its creation. I've dealt with other Game Engines, experimenting with Unity and UDK, I've also gained a vast understanding of 3D Modelling.
With this, I plan this year to work on a recreation of this game, from scratch and distribute it to early teens and schools that would like to teach this, possibly even a range of other various educational style games.
I will keep everyone posted with the new Unity game, and keep a developer blog of sorts to allow users to interact with the development,
Thank you all.

At least this isnt School Shooter... so glad there gone.
Grab a mod that enables Citizen slaughter and good ol Impulse 101, just as good.
