I also work on Goldsource maps whenever I want an extra challenge. I try animating, writing, voice acting and making SFM artworks on the side whenever I don't do level design. I found out a couple of things that you should include in your article:

First, if anyone has the issue of the game freezing whenever you start a mission in any of the mods, set the resolution to 1600x900 or lower (1680x1050 might work, but I haven't tried). I had this problem when I tried playing the mod at 1920x1080 and it took me four hours to figure it out (Granted, it was probably the first thing I should have looked for, but again vanilla WaW worked just fine with that resolution). The rest of the specs don't matter except for the specular options as mentioned.

Second, which is exclusive to this mod, if you see low-poly characters with white tank-top and blue shorts, put the d3d9.dll file in the game's root folder. For some reason those models ABSOLUTELY need that dll in order to be displayed correctly.

That is all. Congratulations on those mods! Except for the fact that I've spent way too time debugging the mods to make them work, I'm enjoying it so far.

I was gone from moddb for a while and was confused why blue199 was banned. Then I find this.

Christ, I remember when he used to comment in about 90% of the mods I watched in this website and the videos I watched on Youtube (I even competed with him about commenting everywhere for a bit). I didn't think he turned out to be a twisted pedophile.

I'm not too surprised though. The worst thing about psychopaths is that they're good at blending within a community by having a fake "friendly" attitude. Considering this was two years ago at the time of writing this, I hope he got the punishment he deserved.

Does the Combine ending (where you wake up in a tube) indicates that you'll be a transhuman soldier in the next episode? I don't know, I wish I could have played as a human CP for a little longer

The message in the credits is well deserved, however. Source SDK is a broken mess, using the tools is a love/hate, and Valve made it worse over time (cough cough Steampipe). It's no wonder why more experienced modders are putting their own upgrades of the engine.

What's the console command to change an NPC's model, and does it apply to all the NPCs of the same type or just one of them?

Also, I've been able to fix the floor invisibility by changing the VMT files, 'guess it wasn't hopeless after all.

Can you please not change the directories for the default models? Grouping them in folders starting with an underscore, while making the models somewhat easier to find, does nothing but complicating customization. It's even worse when you try to run the maps in Gmod. Back in the older version, I once used one of the maps to make a Gmod artwork, which turned out pretty well, but when I ran the newer maps, floors were invisible, textures and models were missing, etc. I know the maps aren't meant to be played on Gmod, and barely anyone does that, but bringing the default directories back to normal would be great if it's not already too late.

Turns out you were right three years later. The levels really weren't finished at all and there are so many borrowed Half-Life 2 assets that it leads me to believe they just didn't want to bother with the hype anymore and threw it all away. I'm glad they didn't release it like this though, otherwise it could have been the grand-father of Hunt Down The Freeman
