Star Wars Jedi: Survivor Receives Gameplay Showcase; 5 Star Wars Mods Strong In The Force feature

Star Wars Jedi: Survivor, the sequel to Respawn's Dark Souls-inspired Fallen Order, has received a nine minute gameplay showcase a few months in advance of its full release. Fallen Order brought a considerably different take on Jedi combat to the table and a pre-Original Trilogy story that helped illustrate the state of the galaxy under the Empire. The new "Jedi" series of games are not the first to put you in the shoes of Jedi and modders have also had their own takes for a while, so here's five mods letting you use the force yourself!

Xim's Star Wars Doom

A Star Wars themed gameplay mod for classic Doom on the GZDoom engine. All DOOM 2 enemies have been replaced with over 40 new variants of foe, with 20+ weapons taken straight from Star Wars canon (including the eponymous lightsaber) to fight them in new levels and environments. Player classes, additional music, and new sounds are all the cherry on top to changing DOOM into something resembling the oldest classics of the Star Wars FPS lineup.

Beckoning Force

Star Wars Jedi: Survivor is the sequel to 2019's Fallen Order, which saw players getting into the boots (and poncho) of a young survivor of Order 66 in a post-Republic, pre-Original Trilogy galaxy. Taking inspiration from Dark Souls' mechanical complexity and emphasis on player mastery, it introduced a brand new tier of gameplay to fans of the franchise and painted in yet more history into Star Wars' rich chronology. Now, a nine minute gameplay video showcasing the stunning environments and blistering combat has been released.

Lighting The Way

Survivor is slated for a release in late April on the 28th, and with refinements to gameplay and story that seem to be a cut above its already impressive predecessor, we're excited to check in on Cal Kestis' journey towards mastering the force and carving out some safety in a dangerous galaxy.
