Monday - Playthrough - Counter-Strike: Source Offensive
Counter-Strike is an iconic name in competitive multiplayer gaming, influencing countless titles after. Counter-Strike: Source, the follow-up is modded to hell and back, and whilst Global Offensive is moddable to some extent as well, Counter-Strike: Source Offensive instead hopes to bring the latest CS experience to the place where, for many, it all began.
Isonzo is another great showing from the developers behind hardcore period shooter, Verdun. Channelling all the nuance of their earlier titles with a graphical sheen that properly encapsulates the destruction wrought by World War 1, tight-team based gameplay returns as you battle to secure victory. Keep your head down, or someone'll take it off!
Some prefer to kick it old-school. Doom 3: Phobos ups the ante in terms of combat, but also revisits the Jedi Knight-era of action games with an emphasis on exploration and progression, and restores the player character as a, well, character, not a blank slate. All this features in a mod truly bringing nostalgia's best to the frontier.
