I don't think I'm going to give up on this. Yeah, I may get bored of this game time to time, and I might freeze it if I'm too involved with something else in my life, but in that case it's more like hibernation than being ultimately canned.

I very much want to finish this, and though I have doubts about my technical veracity and knowledge of the X-Ray engine I'm committed to making what I've planned come to fruition.

Description

Seer is supposed to be a unique NPC in the new story I am coming up with for Zone of Alienation. He is the leader of the Soyuz faction, yet his position as their leader and the formation of the faction itself came about by accident.

The formation of Soyuz coincided with a small group of stalkers and diggers that were struggling to survive from being preyed upon by bandits. Seer was wounded in one of these altercations, suffering from a mild head wound that had missed most of his brain, but had fractured a portion of his skull and leaving him bleeding in a pile of trash, shortly before a blowout.

As a result he has a bandage around his head, to cover up his poorly healing wound, he was then left alone in a vehicle shed during a blowout, which he says had "tempered" him, and had left him with mild telepathic capabilities. The tradeoff of developing such a unique skill has left him physically weak, and prone to both mental and physical exhaustion.

Nevertheless his faction insists on bringing him into battle with them, which is mainly what is responsible for Soyuz's propensity to use heavier body armor, in order to be defensively oriented.

Seer also wears a helmet when in combat, which is a promise he made to himself to avoid dying in the same way that had marred him, yet he removes the helmet so he can relax and read the thoughts of enemies in battle from a safe area.

It is never known whether or not he actually possesses telepathic capabilities, and to some stalkers, Soyuz seem like a fanatical cult doting on a demented invalid.
