The Zone of Alienation mod is an adaptation of the renowned AMK mod. It is built on top of a specialized variant of AMK that uses a magazine system. From this premise, it has expanded to aim to include the following:
Updated the medical icons to include the new drugs and equipment.
The following is a list of what is used at this time in-game.
Hemostatic clamps (for prying out bullets)
Antiseptic
Gauze
Sutures
Saline (for deeper wounds)
two types of hemostatic powder packs
local anesthetic, Chloroprocaine (green syringe)
Steroids (red syringe)
Potassium Iodide (anti-radiation for the sci medkit)
Another anti-radiation drug called CBLB502 (also for the sci medkit)
cool i like it
Very, very nice idea. I just hope they are implemented well :)
To elaborate, maybe an animation for prying a bullet out with hemostatic clamps/ injecting syringes/ applying gauze? That would be epic.
Nice idea. I hope that using those won't cause immediate effects. Using medical equipment should take some time. And should be balanced. I mean banages should have shortest time to make effect (approx.5-10 sec.), med kits medium: 10-20 sec. for standard; 20- 30 sec. military; 30-40 sec. for scientific. As for sewing and antibiotics kit it should take 40-60 seconds and should be performed in safe, thoroughly cleaned of any danger locations.
Another idea after collecting all individual medical items they can be boxed together into a set. Instead of storing bandages, syringes, powders they would be boxed together into an specific type of medkit.
All but one of the upcoming medical additions look great. That one would be the steroids, the inclusion of which I disagree with as implementing them in a realistic manner is simply pants-on-head retarded. You can either use them as a simple, unrealistic stat booster temporarily increasing carry weight or perhaps stamina or you can introduce them 'realistically', forcing players to tediously cycle combinations of anabolics, hormones and levelers. I honestly don't think they have a place in the Zone or the mod.
Yeah, about half-way through doing my research on it I figured it wasn't going to work that way. Instead I think I'll just switch it with amphetamines or something.
Maybe I could expand on the current medical system and add more drugs, but if I were to do that I would probably add some maladies first, but if I add more items I'll probably add food first.
