Description
These specially modified Yorik-Ta escape pods will be launched from the Ro´ik chuun M´arh frigates (a render comes tomorrow). Once fired they attach to an enemy ship with their claws, chew a hole into its outer plating and release an assault party of Yuuzhan Vongs to capture the enemy vessel. Its fate is rather sad after this-it will be either used for attacking its former allied ships, or moved close to them and detonated...
So this thing is a suicide bomber, but with a purpose. Capture, then destroy, I like it.
Dawww it just wants to give the enemy ships a hug.
These pods allow the vong to capture enemy ships. Once the captured ship is under control by the player, it can be manuevered into position and detonated to destroy nearby ships, much like the zann consortium core overload ability.
Due to the vongs hate of technology, all captured vessels will be destroyed at the end of a space battle, do there is no carry-over to other battles.
I think the Vong are going to need a lot of these if they want to try and tackle something like a Star Destroyer.
The Vong destroy many a star destroyer in fact, even SSD's.
Star Destroyers are Nothing compared to what they can grow... :/
Is there a chance that the boarding party could fail? Or is it just game over for whatever its targeting if it gets too close?
Depends on how your crew feels! They might just say "Hey, how are you? Take, the ship? Sure, why not? Or they may get a little bit touchy about people entering their ship uninvited
