DP20 is quick moving, heavily armored corvette, that is armed with an incredible amount of firepower targeted towards fighters. Rapid Blaster turrets (6) tear through ship hulls but cannot penetrate shields, Dual Light Lasers (8) are good against fighters and other small warships, have a slow fire rate but can damage shields, and Concussion Rocket Launchers are good at damaging larger warships but not fighters. Has light shields.

Watchtower Frigate is a heavily armored frigate, with more armor than the standard Nebulon B. Armed with 4 Dual Medium Turbolasers and 3 Dual Light Laser turrets the ship is suited more to patrol and guardian roles. The main purpose of the Watchtower is its advanced sensors which can detect stealth units, located on its 'neck'.

Nebulon B is an advanced assault frigate. Armed with 6 Dual Medium Turbolaser turrets, 4 Light Laser turrets, 1 rapid AA Laser turret and a Heavy Turbolaser turret, with strong shields, it is an all-rounded assault vessel that can take on a variety of targets.

Widowmaker is a modified Nebulon B with 6 Dual Light Laser turrets, 2 Heavy Turblolaser turrets, a second shield generator and an advanced sensor unit that allows Sensor Ping.

Nebulon Ranger is a recovery ship, armed wit 4 Heavy Turbolasers, 6 Dual Light Lasers, and a repair bay that can heal nearby ships.

Victory MKII has stronger shields than the Nebulon B, better AA weaponry, and Concussion missile launchers which do great damage to hulls once shields are removed.

The reason for all the various ship types is their locations of origin. Not all ships will be allowed to be constructed at each planet. The Watchtower is only available at Bilbrigi for example, the Nebulon Ranger only at Kuat, the Victory MKII only at Coruscant. So players will need to be aware of ship differences for they may not always limited building opportunities depending on which planets they own.

It was an integral part of the NR fleets due to its rugged design, and excellent fighter sweeping capabilities.

With the succession of Corellia, there were not as many CR90's and DP20's available. After the fall of the Senate, the New Republic sort of collapsed, so planets undertook self governance, with only Dac still supporting the New Republic fleet. Sullust withdrew to its own borders, as did Corellia, Rendili, Bothawai and Kuat, but Kuat only to a point, since it's existence relied upon being the primary provider of naval ships for the New Republic. This was why Leia went on her diplomatic mission to bring back the chief planets to create the Galacic Alliance. So for about a year of the 4 year war, it can be said that the New Republic only had Bilbringi, Kuat and Dac as chief ship building worlds.

We will be incorporating this concept into the mod, with planets needing to be brought back into the Alliance fold, something that is being worked on by Wariscool and his new diplomacy system.

During the Vong War, 25 years after the death of Palpatine, the Imperial Remnant was on the verge of extinction, and became an ally of the New Republic. Ship designs were not owned by factions, but rather owned by planetary manufactures such as Sullust (SoruSuub), Kuat (Kuat Drive Yards), Corellia (Corlliean Engineering Corporation), Eriadu (Loronar), Corulag (Sienar Fleet Systems), Mandalor (Mandal Motors) etc.

The Victory MKII Frigate was actually a product of Sienar, and therfore will be constructed on Corulag.
