WOW.

Everytime I see a unit like this from one of the factions, I wonder how the other two will survive.

Here it is! Looks like a heavy version of the last one! One question: What kind of assault craft is intended to launch?

To veiw scaled size, look at previous picture posting on far right.

This is a heavy frigate, as long as a Nebulon B but 3x as wide.

(Sorry for deleting post but this was the easiest way)

Nothing bad, you just went into a lengthy explanation under the assumption that this was the size of a shuttle. The ship is big and has 6 launch hangers.

So to save others from reading a long post I just removed it and corrected you.

Please feel free to analyze the ship again, your comments are enjoyable :)

oh. i was under the assumption that each of the docking bays was for an individual assault craft. i guess i thought of them as docking ports

HOw big will the hut fleet be? It shouldn't be nearly as big as corsec or the NR or the remnant fleets especially since the only time they actually had a big fleet was during the second galactic civil war.

CorSec was only a heavily armed police force for protecting Corellia. The Hutt syndicate spanned the entire galaxy....

The Hutt fleet was used to patrol and monitor trade and shipping convoys. Spice ruled the galaxy, and the Hutts owned the sources and the trade. Large armored cargo vessels were needed to transport the raw material from mining worlds while protecting it from other pirates and worlds that wanted it for their own. Aside from illegal recreational use, various forms of spice were used to make many types of medicine, making it a highly prized material.

The New Republic and the old Empire still had larger warships with more advanced weaponry, but the low tech heavy armored transports of the Hutts proved just as effective in combat after being converted for war use.

New Republic relies on shields and advanced weaponry. This was how their technology evolved from the years of battling the empire. Hutt technology is based around missiles and mass drivers. Deflector Shields on ships absorbed energy weapons and deflected most physical objects. Missiles and mass drivers however were able to penetrate through. Energy weapons cause much more damage which is why ship shields are a necessity for laser warfare. Projectile weapons cause less damage, but since the New Republic designed their fleet for facing enemies like the Empire, armor was sacrificed due to having superior shield technology. This would prove to be a troubling factor in battles to come...

Missiles and slugs from mass drivers would impact against particle shielding. Just most books and such have ray and particle combined as one unlike Episode IV where they were two different things. Sorry hadta be a nerd really quick.lol

Yes, that is all very true, but it is not possible to give a unit 2 types shields (someone has already examined this). So to simply matters for game playing enjoyment, lasers will have very little damage to shields, missiles and slugs will have medium damage to shields, ions will have high damage to shields.

Description

The frigate hunter.

The Trae'kaata Dorii was designed to hunt frigates. Larger in size than a Nebulon B, the Trae'kaata is equipped with multiple engine systems to provide extreme speed boosts. It has been said that this ship can fly almost as fast a CR90. Sacrificing armor like its little brother the Skor'ikk, the Trae'kaata was designed to dive into enemy ship formations and unleash fury. Armed with 6 forward fixed missile launchers, 2 flank light laster turrets and 6 internal flank mounted mass drivers, the ship can deal out a good bit of pain. For defense the Trae'kaata als has 3 dual blaster turrets. The main feature of the Trae'kaata is its twin aft dual heavy turbo laster turrets. This allows the ship to leave a devastating parting gift as it flees from hit and run missions.

The Trae'kaata Dorii also features a tractor beam and 6 docking bays for launching assault craft.
