A few of these were in the New Republic fleet as well as the Imperial Remnant.

The ISD2 lacked missile launchers and torpedos, making its only long range weapons the 8 octuple heavy turbolaser turrets.

Dual Medium turbos shot further than Fast tracking turbos.
Dual Medium turbos fires off 3 round bursts
Fast Tracking dual Turbos fired off 5 round bursts
Tubolaser turrets fired 2 round bursts, but were more accurate vs fighters, yet not as accurate as light lasers or AA cannons

The main weakiness of the Imperial Star Destroyer line is a lack of AA weaponry, making the ships always need to be escorted by frigates and corvettes.

Typo: turbolaser tower turrets fired 2 round bursts

It's the one I've been waiting for. Looks great! Now just have to wait to see the ISD 1.

Yeah, Strobe makes a good point, too outdated. The ISD-I was actually a Clone wars-era design, bear in mind. You'll have more than enough stuff to play with, you won't miss it too much ;)

I'm not trying say it should be in the mod I just asked about a month or so ago and someone on the team said you were including it. I can see good reasoning not to include it and I guess the simplest explanation would be to say that all ISD hulls were upgraded to mark 2 status. It won't hurt my feelings if it isn't in the mod because if I miss it too much I will just add it in on my own :)

i've been corrected, the Right To Rule, Pellaeon's flagship was an ISD1, so it will be present in the mod.

Thank you for the correction WIC

what about Ion Cannons? Wookie states that there were 20 Heavy Ions and i think the rear-most Octet on each side are often described as Ions as well

5x4=20

5 quad heavy ion turrets ;)

The octets could be switched to ion weaponry in some cases, but our version features long range heavy turbos.

The rear most main gun turret on an ISD1 is an ion cannon but I don't think they ever specified on the ISD2 what they are. According to Wiki they can be ions or turbos.

Isd2, victory mk3, allegiance

The victory had concussion missile launchers and 4 octuples long range heavy turbos, combined with quick speed making the victory an excellent warship hunter.

The Allegiance was slow, armed with med range heavy quad turbolaser turrets and heavy ions and concussion missile launchers. It was best served acting as a heavy close range battleship or a defensive guard.

The isd2 was strong, long and medium range weapons, and it was fast, quicker than the mc80 yet not as fast as victory. It was an excellent assault ship.

The most awesome ship in movie history. I cannot wait for this mod to come out. One question, will there be a build limit on these since they are so old? Or will they just be starting units?

Hmm, randomly reminded me of the battle at Helska IV. Swarms of coralskippers picking a Star Destroyer apart. Would be interesting to try.

Is there a reason you like to render in user, rather than perspective?

Reply Good karma Bad karma+1 vote
Burntstrobe Author
Burntstrobe - - 3,471 comments

User allows the view and to get closer. It also gives a more accurate picture. Perspective is more "artsy", but i would rather show you a more straightforward "what you see is what you get" type photo of the model. I want you to be able to see as much of the model as possible.

The game is for pretty pics, here is just for seeing the foundation of its progress.

Your model was very good G, the little details I added to the hull help enhance the appearance and will contribute greatly when shadows are added and for close range cinematic viewing, which is something we are taking into great consideration.

The main viewing distance will be focused on ships the size of the dreadnaught, which is why frigates and cruisers have the most detail. We want large ships to truly feel epic in size and power. As always , we are taking poly count into consideration, this ship, which will be a rare sight in the mod, is about the same poly count a the mc85.

Nice model :)

I might have some nitpicking to do, though... the front seems a bit odd to me... didn't it look little bit less "pointy" in the films? Like the way the front of Allegiance-class looks, but not that much cut...?

It is hard to see in the pictures, but the tip of the bow actually is flat, not coming to a point, and there are 2 turbo laser towers there, so it does actually match the movies pictures.

Description

Imperial II - Class Star Destroyer

A venerable titan on the battlefield, while being considered out-dated by more modern warships such as the Nebula Class, the ImpStar Deuce was still one of the most heavily armed ships in the galaxy. Heavily armored, strong shielded and bristling with weaponry, the ISD2 could easily take out 3-4 ships of its same size.

Armed with 5 quad heavy ion turrets, the ISD2 was capable of debilitating any enemy vessel in a matter of moments. The 8 octuple heavy turbolasers gave ship long range punch with 12 dual heavy turbolaser turrets for closer range ship to ship combat. To fend of enemmy cruisers, corvettes and frigates, the ship had 14 fast tracking dual medium turbolaser turrets, 40 dual medium turbolasers, and 37 dual turbolaser towers.

The Imperial Star Destroyer was a rare sight in the galaxy at this time period, but when it arrived, everyone knew, and tension was felt all around.
