SoroSuub Mining Corporation
Specializing in deep core mining and mineral processing, SoroSuub was an umbrella corporation that provided all goods for the citizens of Sullust. From food packaging and clothing to communications devices and weapon tech, if you resided beneath the surface of Sullust, you lived breathed and were SoroSuub, for they controlled all aspect of life.
During the Civil War, SoroSuub Corp signed a lucrative deal to ally with the Empire, becoming one of the chief ore mining planets of the glalaxy. Upon Imperial investigation of the planet's production facilities and seeing how SoroSuub was limited to underground production facilities and hangers, the Empire chose to provide a catalyst to help refine ore faster. The hangers of Sullust were impenetrable, but were mainly used for exporting material off of planet. Long launch tubes that angled up to the surface allowed cargo freighter to blast off the planet quickly, yet made re-entry a bit more difficult, something that was mostly only able to be handled by the sturdiest of freighters.
Seeing the limitation in launch capabilities, the Empire relocated one of its sturdiest technological marvels to the Sullust system. Heavily armored and strong shielded, but lacking weapons, the 'Forge' as it became nicknamed by the Sullustians who ran it was strong enough to survive the thick of an asteroid field while increasing ore processing by ten fold with its ability to crack open asteroids to reach hidden mineral deposits. Its on-site production capabilities allowed resources to be processed instantaneously and soon all defense fighter production was moved out of the cumbersome cave hangers to the new orbital location. The fact that most of the Forge was droid-controlled and that the Empire chose to leave security to be completely handled by SoroSuub is what allowed the Sullustian rebels to ultimately hack into it, stealing control and ultimately overthrow the SoroSuub regime which governed the planet.
Okay, the "catalyst to help refine ore faster" is a world devastator. Don't try and deny it.
