Can we have some links or images showing these 3 variants of MC80B? Btw, I thought that the wingspan of MC80B would be a little bit more and wider since your model seems quite similar to the MC80 Liberty Type(just my personal opinion only...).

There have only been a few images of the mc80b: a line drawing side and from schematic, an artist pencil sketch, and a color version.

The 3 different ship style variations are by my own devise. The mc80b was an advanced ship design built upon the mc80 design style but customized for specific roles. One could debate that it was the first Mon Calamarian ship designed specifically for battle (not retrofitted), but was crafted from an existing knowledge base (the liberty). This ship style can be seen as a testing ground, where enhancements and improvements were tried and tested as the Mon Cals developed their plans for the mc90 which replaced this line of ships.

The MR class was developed first for a need of a heavy assault ship leading smaller ships into battle. As the NR fleet grew, the ship was changed to have its armament more evenly distributed so that it would be able to support other larger NR ships in the middle of a battle. As other NR ships became larger in size, the armament of the 80B again changed to one of a more support role, hanging back in the distance while NR fleet tactics preferred smaller strike ships and fighters to lead the charge with more carrier dedicated types of ships.

This is how I explain the use at least for the Vong mod. All the 3 types will share the same basic hull design, but have differences in their detail appearance.

You can also view the size relation in this photo, for the majority of fleets will be composed of frigate sized ships such as the neb b.

There will be 3 variations to the MC80B line:

Mon Remonda Class : assault cruiser
Mon Adapyne Class : battle cuiser
Allegiant Class : support cruiser

Assault is for spearheading attacks, battle is for fighting along side other ships, support is for longer range attacks and enemy immobilization.

correct me if im wrong, but i interpret this as the MR having a more powerful weapons and engines suite to achieve better speed, the MA having better shields and the 8-squadrons of fighters, and the A having weapons that perhaps arent as strong as the other variants, but having a longer range and perhaps a passive ability such as repair, or enhanced sensors

I was thinking:

MR: power to thrusters / concentrate fire / 4 squadrons
MA : power to shields / ? / 8 squadrons
AL : longer range weapons / ? / ? / 8 squadrons

Description

The MC80B Star Cruiser : Mon Remonda Class

The MC80B line of star cruisers was an interim design, built out of necessity for a quickly produced battle cruiser with enough firepower to take down a Star Destroyer and push on still fighting. The Mon Remonda class, named after the first ship of the line which was lost to Silencer 7 at the battle of Mon Calamari years before, features the majority of its gun blisters forward facing, allowing to deliver a deadly payload of fire power with a slim profile for taking damage.

The MC80B-MR Class line features reinforced armor, protected gun blisters, 3 heavy ion turrets and 14 of the new Mon Calamari turrets which are the equivalent of the Imperial style heavy turbo laser, but have a slightly longer range of fire. The MR Class also carries 4 fighter squadrons: 2 X-wing, 1 B-wing, 1 A-wing.
