This ship also features heavy tractor beams, mounted on on the flank wing structures and was able to salvage damage ships asteroids for credits.

And of course, more to be announced later about that ;)

It was mentioned a long time ago that EVE things would be used - do you really expect him to make every single model from scratch??

What's up with all these EVE ships? Do they actually exist in the SW universe or they've been added only because of the lack of known ships for certain factions? Regardless of the reasoning here, I don't mind it, I'm just curious.

Well, u can see these ships designs as the fanon Star Wars starships and refit into NJO Era's military...

Correct. There are a lot of holes in the NJO story timeline. In order for us to make a complete mod, we must fill these holes in and write some of our own fannon lore. We need to create a universe where each of the three factions can possibly emerge as victor of the entire galaxy.

Making models takes time. It takes sometimes months to make 1 single model, AND we are not professionals either. We are only self taught hobbyists. Eve Online makes wonderful models. They have a truly talented development team, and they are kind enough to allow use of their resources for outside modding. We thank you Eve.

We have examined the Eve models and have carefully chosen select models which fit into the appearance and aesthetic of the NJO timeline. We are not adding all the Eve ships, just ones that we feel look like they could belong to our subfactions. Do not think of them as Eve ships, but instead admire them for their design.

If this does not bode well with you, make your own model and give it to us. Unless you have answered our call for help and are contributing to the mod, you have no room to complain. Modding is hard work. We give all our free time to develop this for you, for free.

Please be grateful.

so why is the model green-ish? is it because its from EVE?

Burntstrobe Aug 3 2013, 8:14pm replied:

It is only green because I applied a render color in the modeling program. In 3dsmax, I assign a color to every ship so I can tell different factions. It means nothing, the model will be fully textured in detail for the game ;)

Revanchist_1 Aug 3 2013, 9:08pm says:

So just a quick question. So far the majority of the Mandalorian faction's space units are either from FoC or from EVE Online. I think this is a wonderful idea (why spend all the extra time designing completely new ships when some already exist and fit in really well with the faction identity you're trying to create), however, I would like to know if there will be any original designs for the Mandalorian faction.

Also, will the Mandos get a super ship? I really can't see them fitting into the Mandalorian style, they seem too "posh" for them, if you will.

Thanks for your time and effort being put in this mod.

Description

"The Fighting Shield"

The Fierk'tekk was a Mandalorian mobile shipyard, designed to perform repairs during the midst of battle. The ship was heavily armored and slow moving, with a moderate shield system. It was capable of totally protecting 2 corvette/gunship sized ships or hovering over the damage areas of larger capital ships or super star ships to perform repair.

The Fierk'tekk was also a deadly combatant such as all Mandalorian creations. The Shield featured 2 heavy beam cutting laser turrets mounted on the front ventral side. These heavy lasers could easily cut through any metal or rock in seconds. For additional support, the Fierk'tekk featured 8 dual medium turbo lasers along the top side with an additional 4 on the ventral side. There were also 2 quad light turbo laser turrets along the dorsal back side of the ship along with 1 single ventral mounted quad light turbo for any pests that came to close to the repair center.
