I see two options, or lights on model or lights with particles. The first is probably better because particles can overload the game. I recomend you check the comics named Star Wars Revelations, probably they are the unique canon example from Vong ships and most of them have lights. Other changes can be the colors, there is not need from paint all brown or grey, Vong units are painted with good colors, they remember me to the jungle from Avatar.

I´m quite familiar with the Invasion (Refugees,Rescues,Revelations) series. Problem is that it´s a comic book so the colours are not "real". Apart from this, shape of many ships shown there doesn´t look organic, so they need some tweaks. But you´re right, it´s a possible source/inspiration.

Nobody speaks from follow at 100% the sources. Yourself have told it, it can be a source of inspiration. At the end the game never goes to be equal and many people will have different thoughts and opinions.

Indeed, seeing from what we have so far (all the stuff we haven't shown yet, stay tuned!) it's gonna blow pretty much any other mod out of the water. Yea including alliance ;)

Wait and see

I think I know why he asks: The dovin basals are providing only energy for engine and protection systems. The weapons are not linked to them. Was this the answer to your question?

YAY, I am so excited that we get to finally see an ingame model. I mean the Moddb page, profiles, everything so far has been of the utmost quality. It's great to see that the same quality, if not more so, goes with the mod itself!

What about the black oval things that float just above the ship and move around it to absorb anything fired at it? I remember most of their ships having those and they had to change their tactics to actually destroy the ship. I remember reading one particular line where Gavin and a few others had to fire a massive volley at the ship to keep the thing distracted long enough so that another person could fire at it from another direction and destroy it. I also remember that they would over load the thing also with a massive amount of fire from numerous ships.

Our first Vong unit texture to be shown... We will be showing only .alo viewer renders because we believe in the idea of "what you see, is what you get", meaning that this unit will look the same for you in the game as it does here for the screenshot. Through our techniques of modeling and texture art, this is an exact representation of what you will experience in-game as you play our mod. (screenshot taken with .aloViewer).

This model was made by Seregruth, our Vong modeling master. Texture by Burntstrobe.
