Developed by the Chiss to fulfill the need for a heavy armored all terrain siege breaker, the massive Siege Walker was created for the purpose of being able to take an extreme beating and smash through fortification and defense to allow Chiss assault craft to race ahead and deploy ground troops.
The Siege Walker is armed with a massive heavy artillery turbolaser mounted on the 'head', a quad nose mounted heavy beam laser, with 2 dual heavy laser blasters flanking the underside of the head and 2 dual light laser blasters protecting the rear hanger. The rear hanger opens to deploy 6 probot droids for eliminating attacking infantry that get too close to the walker. The walker is more heavily armored than the ATAT, yet the ATAT's weapons are comparatively stronger. The ATAT will stand as tall as the windows on the Seige Walker, making the Seige Walker a very large weapon.
Special abilities include Artillery Laser, deployment of 6 probot droids

Yes, it is a Chiss siege walker but it has been stated, on numerous occasions, that the main factions can, after meeting certain conditions, recruit units from minifactions. For example, the NR can recruit units from the Remnant. Some minifactions can be recruited by only certain factions (the Remnant, so far as I know, are exclusive to the NR) whilst others are available to all factions (the Mandalorians).
So yes, I do read the news, and the descriptions. My question was can only the NR ally with the Chiss or can the Hutts do so as well?

So, Enpremi did an outstanding job recreating this model from the concept picture by Radojavor.deviantart.com. After reviewing the model and its texture, I conversed with Enpremi and further developed his texture with some ideas of my own. Through close collaboration with all of our mods, we are able to share ideas and expand upon one another's work while testing out new texturing methods. By combinind Enpremi's techniques with those of my own style, this was the end result which I feel is just truly menacing and worthy of tile Siege Walker, for this thing looks like it could just take a punch to face and give you an eerie grin right before destroying you to dust.

The head bobs from left to right, all 6 legs are animated for walking and turning, for the Vong mod, it will have 2 special abilities, heavy artillery laser cannon mounted on head and rear hanger deploy which will launch 6 probot droids. This is the Chiss's main assault weapon for ground battles.
The texture is epic, but (and this is just my inner perfectionist speaking) it looks a bit too matte. Enpremi's original texture (this: Moddb.com ???) looks more shiny, metal-like. You obviously wanted a more worn out look but it looks as though you took all the shine away. Or maybe it is just different lighting in these two pics, idk.

You probably have a lot better idea already, but is heavy artillery laser cannon going to be something like the SPHA-T cannon? I can't help but notice the resemblance. And recreating this effect: Youtu.be would be so awesome IMO.
Enpremi's picture is a Render from 3DsMax, all of my pictures are taken using Alo Viewer, so what you see is what you get in the actual game. Renders from 3dsMax look much better than actual game, due to the modeling program being able to use much higher quality resolutions. Remmeber, EAW was intended to only use .dds file format for images which is a low resolution compression style and all original textures were only 512 or 1024. The resolution of this texture is 2 2048 textures.
For the Vong mod, we are portraying the galaxy in a dark time, and through texture design we are trying to illustrate a theme of hardship and haggardness as the galaxy is struggling for survival. To accomplish this, we are purposefully creating textures that look and appear a bit more worn and battle-scarred. We do not wish to have vehicles appear shiny and new, for that feels a bit unrealistic for our time Era, where the Galaxy is just emerging from 40 years of civil war and internal strife, only to be invaded again by another galaxy spanning invasion. So in short, you are seeing 2 different styles of texturing. Enpremi has utilized a more traditional style of texture work, where my style is rather unique to my own creations and helps portray the theme of our mod: dark, harsh and ragged. The alamo engine itself is not really capable of capturing all of the texture detail that is shown in a 3dsMax render, so my 'dirty style' helps add to where quality is lost in the actual game.

While data loss due to compression is a bad thing eye-candy-wise, in turn it means the mod will be less heavy on the system requirements which means more people will be able to experience it. So it's a good thing too.
Anyway the model+texture are great. They're Heaven and Earth in comparison to vanilla game assets.

Could we get a comparison picture between this and the AT-AT? It sounds like that this thing might be a little smaller, since it the original art it was about twice as large as an AT-AT.

I thought the ATAT only had two blaster cannons and two heavy laser cannons while this one has "a massive heavy artillery turbolaser mounted on the 'head', a quad nose mounted heavy beam laser, with 2 dual heavy laser blasters flanking the underside of the head and 2 dual light laser blasters" so then how can this be undergunned compared to the ATAT?
The ATAT weapons fire faster, and are more powerful, except for the Artillery cannon of the Siege Walker, which can destroy an ATAT in 1 shot.
The Siege Walker has stronger armor, but its quad laser is similar to the LAAT beam weapons, and its side mounted blasters are equivalent to the chin guns of an ATST, while the rear guns are comparable to EWEB blasters
