TFN Fans,
An official release date has been chosen for Tuesday, October 16th 2018. This date will allow players 2 weeks to get 1.5 HD downloaded and installed, just in time for Halloween and Trick or Treating. My hope is to release a "How To Install" on YouTube by this time showing a step-by-step guide on how to install 1.5 HD with the mod loader.
A change log is also in the works, however, as I am still adding additional content and fixing bugs, I'm not quite ready to release it as their are still a few things I'd like to take care of before release. In the meantime, join me on YouTube as I continue recording a "Let's Play" with the new changes, and discuss further plans for TFN. This is also a fantastic format to ask questions and communicate with me directly.
Does this change graphics only or gameplay/story too?
This update primarily focuses on making TFN truly widescreen by readjusting all the menus, character sheet, windows, HUD, etc...
This version also focuses heavily on XP and money rebalances, making 1.5 HD significantly more challenging, like the earlier version of TFN were. We also fixed some glaring bugs and introduced new histories that are more clan appropriate.
Oh hey, if it works on making a truly widescreen game, does it effect animations? I noticed some animations at the corner of the screen are extremely stiff. (Like the intro sequence)
Do you mean the cutscenes? The cutscenes look pretty good now. There's a little bit of a skewed screen when the camera zooms back but it's only a few angles and not very noticeable. All in all, I'm pretty happy with how it looks now.
I have played vtmb ages and ages ago, and now have it on steam and want to play it again with all the mods. The two I'm looking at are the final nights and the clan quest mod. Can I run them both at the same time or do I only play through with one at a time? Also are there any other good mods for the game?
These are all very good questions. In terms of a complete overhaul with new clans, disciplines, game mechanics, etc... The Final Nights is by far the most comprehensive and polished. Camarilla Edition is similar to TFN in that it overhauls some things, but still keeps the original clans.
Clan Quest Mod is hands down the best mod if you're looking for an expansion to the original game. It doesn't change the clans, disciplines, or game mechanics, but expands the story line with professionally fully voiced NPCs and corresponding quests.
You can't play both of these in a single playthrough, but thanks to the mod loader, you can have both attached to a single install of Bloodlines.
TFN 1.5 HD is released October 16th while CQM 4.0 will be released some time around Halloween. Both are incredible mods and I would play them both.
As far as other mods go, I would recommend aesthetic mods such as Niveas' Eye Replacer and 3Dell's Silver Hud. If you're looking for a more polished (bug-free) vanilla experience, get Wesp's Unofficial Patch. :)
