One of the first things you may notice in the title is that the "B" is missing from VTMB, this is not an accident. The Final Nights is an expansion to an otherwise flawless video game built upon the success of the Camarilla Edition series of mods. The "B" has been removed because this expansion can no longer bare the name Bloodlines as it is so far removed from the original game as to warrant the name change. The idea behind this expansion is, and always will be the notion of a completely new experience unlike we've seen so far. With 7 completely brand new clans, 5 new disciplines, extra quests, new NPCs, new game mechanics and new music, the features seem endless. All of this is being built upon the Camarilla Edition series incorporating such things as the blood timer system, pedestrian blood dolls, and the new combat system. Combined we feel the name Bloodlines must be removed from this game, and thus we now simply have "The Final Nights".

TFN Fans,

It is I, Zer0Morph! I'm back at it again for another patch for The Final Nights overhaul mod. Coming up in early June/late July, I will be releasing TFN 1.6 HD along with a new Let's Play series and a re-release of the How-To Install (shortened version) and a fully voiced Game Manual video where I run through all the changes of The Final Nights over the past 10 years. To wet your pallets, I have released an Introduction to TFN 1.6 HD video featuring all the new content and bug fixes for this latest release.

Hey there. Can't wait to play the newest TFN edition. I really appreciate a perfectionist developer:). Several things that I remember from previous walkthroughs:

1. Ishtarri description on the loading screen, though my English is far from decent, seems to have a typo in the beginning: "Information brokers only _scratches_ the surface..."

2. The tape inside the Kamikaze Zen vault seems to be impossible to send to Mitnick.

3. The safe in Metalhead industries seems to be empty.

4. If I don't stealth-kill Edgar Hirst somehow, he activates Fortitude if I'm not mistaken and the sound of this Discipline being on stays after his death and with every visit to Skyeline.

5. Sometimes the Skyeline elevator button jams on the first floor, which didn't happen in other mods. It's cured by noclipping in the elevator and opening it from inside though XD.

6. If I install the mod on top of GOG version of the game, the windows outside of Santa Monica apartment only show blue-ish void instead of the street. Don't know what's that about.

Those are just nitpicks of course, overshadowed by what we have already and, well, VtMB is never going to be truly stable, we all know that.

Also, just as a thought, not something for the immediate future: have you thought about introducing Humanity raises through money spending? With newer better ways of losing it appearing soon this might come in handy:).

Anyway, big thanks to you and Team Camarilla International for TFN!

Ivan,

Thanks for the kind words man, I really appreciate it, and the bugs you found too, if I don't know about them, I can't fix em'. :)

1. I just opened the loading screen file and I don't see any underscores "_" anywhere in the description. I'm not sure why you're seeing them but I can't replicate it.

2. I'll look into this. I remember this happening years ago in a Samedi playthrough but then forgot about it. Thanks for letting me know.

3. I'll look into this as well.

4. I can't seem to replicate this either. The sound does linger for a few seconds or so, but definitely should be gone after reloading the Skyline map.

5. Another one I can't replicate, though I've had issues getting down from the top floor in previous playthroughs of the unofficial patches. It may be one of those weird, one off bugs, that can't be replicated, like the fish in the fish tank bug.

6. I definitely can't replicate this bug, as I don't have a GOG copy of the game, and I can't see blue windows in my retail version.

Money for Humanity... very interesting idea for sure! Silvia Black provides a Money for Masquerade violation services, so this idea has merit.

Thanks for the post, my friend. I'll look into those other 2 bugs. Blessings!

Okay, thanks for the prompt reply! In number 1 what I meant was not underscores, I put them there myself:*), I just thought that, since "brokers" seems to be in plural, the verb might be "scratch"?

And speaking of Samedi - I'm overall okay with their ugliness spotted from all over the street unlike the very forgiving Nosferatu curse, but that makes the first scripted scene in SM hilarious, when a Samedi neonate is just nonchalantly looking around for Mercurio's house while people around are losing their #*+? and a criminal violation pops up. A collision with new system, or a reminder that you can't do that anymore as a Stiff?:) I wonder how his dialogue with Ming-Xiao in the streets of Downtown goes with that mug.

Oh, and I was never able to have the final dialogue with Beckett (the one where he warns me not to open it) in TFN, it wouldn't activate. Is that for better plot structure, or some script got lost?:)

Ahh, okay, gotcha.

Yeah, I'm not really sure how to change the opening scene. I've always just popped Obfuscate and sneak to the cut scene, and then he stands up, still obfuscated, and I'm okay. But yeah, that would be cool to have that also fixed. I'm not sure how it goes with Ming... I might wanna test that too.

Hmmm... I can't remember if you're supposed to talk to him or not. Do you know?

Concerning Beckett, if I remember correctly, in vanilla VtMB when I'm sent to the Last Round to negotiate for peace at the very end of the game, near Strauss' house he yells "Wait!", runs up to me from the dark alley next to it, strongly discourages me from opening TAS, says his tragic farewells and runs back in the alley. A howl is heard. And that's it.

You know what? I actually remember that happening years ago when I beat the UP. And he doesn't do that anymore? Strange...

Yup, this whole scene just never happens in 1.4.1 and the earlier ones, I'm thinking 1.2. Not that it ruins anything of course, there's no XP gain for him finding you:), and it doesn't create much of a plothole.

You know what? Now that you mentioned the scene, I do remember removing that so it wouldn't conflict with the Samedi, so I just got rid of it for everyone. I think I took the lazy way out, perhaps I should put it back. I think I moved Ming down the alley a little ways, if you're Samedi. I think...

I did some investigating and it turns out that the CD-Rom for Gary, or the rubber ducky (depending on which version of the UPs you have), was supposed to be in the Metalhead safe. I removed all items that you turn in for a poster in TFN so I could make room for other uses of those items. This is why the safe is empty. I put $100 in there instead and will be in 1.6 HD. :)

Ha-ha, awesome! By the way, do you happen to have crashes upon finishing Giovanni mansion and Leopold caves if you have too many items? I usually reload and drop the sidequest-related stuff when this happens and when my inventory is empty enough, it allows me to go on. I think, later versions of UP had this as well.

Yeah, I do. This is an age old bug introduced in the vanilla game and I'm not sure how to fix it. I manage it by keeping my items to a minimum. I tend to store unnecessary items in my haven.

Also, I did some research into your Kamikaze Zen issue. Turns out we changed the 'nameplate' into 'server logs' and then made the description sound like Mitnick would want these, but never made a way for the player to give them to him. So, I changed the description of the item so it doesn't sound like you're supposed to give them to Mitnick. I was scratching my head, wondering how to give them to Mitnick too, then realized I never was supposed too, it was just a misleading description. Sorry about that.

This is also updated in 1.6. Thanks for reporting this stuff, it really polishes our mod. :)
