Violent Memories is a HL2 mod that does not make any/many changes to the original code or models, but poses a whole new singleplayer experience. VM (abreviation of Violent Memories) will instead focus on an almost altered gameplay style. In VM, you play as a spy for the resistance in c17, but there is a catch: the game starts with your death. When the game starts, you quickly assume a very climactic battle with the combine, and then the most anticlimacting thing happens, the character is killed with poisonous gas.
In the final moments of his brains functioning, our hero flashes back his life in extreme detail, but you cut in when he remembers what exactly led to his death. For more story info, see the website.
The main character will be a kind of a combination 007-Mission Impossible spy, but here to, is a catch: you don't have any gadjets at your disposal. But, don't be discouraged, for the world is your gadjet! Most anything can be made a kind of convenience some way. You see a barrel or two and a piece of plywood and think "useless", If see the same I think "hmm, if I stack these barrels and use the plywood so I can get on top, I can reach that ledge (which has hidden ammo, surprise!).
You can also decide to go through guns riddeling bullets into everything, or go in quiet, and leave unnoticed. Thats one of the good things about the mod. Its like Burger Kings motto, "have it your way", you can choose a lot. At one point, I even hope to let the player choose between sticking with the resistance and joining the combine... oooo, moral dillema-y. Maybe even choose objectives, assassinate him or steal experimental weapon?

The file size is big due to the amount of pictures, but its worth the wait

building up for an update
Now this is getting rediculous, we have been waiting on our site designer for how long now... We haven't died, so don't worry. Just pre-occupied and such, need more members.
We are currently having trouble getting housting, so weve set up a small fourm, if i was you i would check it out!
Don't worry, the end won't make it seem pointless, I assure you. I am known where I live and in some websites to be able to spin a story quite well, and sometimes even spin it around and around...
I have to stop typing, I may incidentally give away a secret or two.
All in all, expect quite a few plot twists (the interesting kind).
Sounds like an interesting storyline, but what bothers me is the fact that the main character dies at the end of the game. Seems to make the game pointless, but hey with the right story i'm sure it'll be fine. Keep up the good work.
Well, I think your concept sounds good, and the few map shots you've released look pretty nice. So ignore the whiner and keep working on it :P
