Hi,

First off, want to say, thanks for this incredible mod, it's fantastic.

My friend and I have both installed the latest version and patch, the latest tyranid mod, and also the latest recommended maps.

We both can play skirmish mode, works great.

We also can both activate the stock Soulstorm version, and play an online match without issue (we both use steam).

However, we have an issue when we have the UA version activated, we can create a game, both join the game, pick our faction. Then the person
who created the game will start the game...get the countdown, and here is where we have the problem.

The person who creates the game will see the loading screen, of who is playing and on what teams, it will fully load but not start the game, and instead will say waiting for other player.

The person who joined the game, will not see the loading screen at all.

We'd really like to play the UA mod online, is this something other people are experiencing? I know there was an issue earlier the month which Steam fixed quickly around 8/12, but has something new occurred or any tips would be greatly appreciated!

Have you tried looking into the Technical Support thread? There are bunch of multiplayer issues reported that we helped fix. :)

I've looked at both the FAQ and technical issues thread. I see many issues related to "sync" issues, but we never see this. We hadn't looked at any log yet, not sure where those would be. We have identical mods. Maybe I can use that tool to ensure our downloads match the cksum, but is there any specific pointer you may have or a link to similar issue since I could not find it. Thx.

Update 9/10/2014:


So the md5sums of the u.a. Base and patch were not corrupted. Tested with 2 different people no luck. Would the warnings log be of help?

For now we'll need to play Titanium Wars mod as it works multiplayer flawlessly and has many of the features as u.a. Does.

I do like the zoom and hero upgrade features of u.a. Better, but multiplayer is a big deal.

Everybody can play multiplayer with UA. UA works with multiplayer in the past and it works now.

There are many things you need to look out for.
1. Make sure you turn off these win conditions like Heroes, Advanced Overwatch, and etc.. Looping scar inflicts sync errors when bunched together.
2. Make sure you and your friends have the same mod version, with no files modded.
3. Make sure you are all using Soulstorm Patch 1.2.
4. All related mods, UA, Objective Points, Tyranids mod, Inquisition Daemonhunters, and Daemons must be the SAME. Anything different will cause sync errors and Dawn of War is flawed at that unfortunately.
5. Do NOT play in -dev mode, the shortcut used to get the mod quickly via .bat files. This will break multiplayer and will also break your multiplayer.
6. If you cannot get any multiplayer to work, or you got sync errors during this time then reinstall. WITHIN REINSTALLATION, make sure you do not see ANY extraction errors or you WILL have multiplayer issues.

If I can add, have you tested the mod in multiplayer on non-apocalypsed maps ? That is to say the regular vanilla maps you get with the game, not with the mod ?

Because I have exactly the same problem you have, only that it appears only in the UA maps. Normal maps perfectly work but the UA one will always do this strange thing in MP...and I have found no turn-around for that. Even copy-pasta-ing the exact same dawn of war from one computer to the other wouldn't solve the problem.

@Oomperial - you were correct! Thank you for that suggestion. The issue indeed is that the apocolyzed maps prevent multiplayer from working. I think this should be a FAQ. It might be a bug, but very happy we can now enjoy this mod with multiplayer . So happy :)
