Wait...
...the Goliath isn't going to be a mech?

(Not that the current design isn't absolutely gorgeous - because it *is* fantastic)

Since GDI already has several mech types, we thought it would be a bit more unique to use a tank instead of a walker as the MBT. Countless other TS mods and TS itself use some form of Walker/Titan.

That *is* something that I love about TI: mech-thingies instead of attack buggies, light tanks instead of bikes, MLRS Mechs instead of Hover MLRSs, Nod hover units, etc.

Well, tbh, I always found it odd story-wise that GDI had a mech as a MBT. I mean, defeated at the end of TibDawn, and several years later have mechs all around? Okay, GloboTech helped them, but still =P

Description

Manufactured by Globotech the Goliath is derived from the Leopard 2 and X-67 Mammoth Tank, and has successfully replaced the aging M1 Abrams as GDI's primary battle tank. Standard armaments are over and under smoothbore 120mm tank guns that fire special Kinetic-Explosive shells designed to puncture even the toughest armour and subsequently detonate, dealing critical damage to the interior of an enemy vehicle. However such high-precision weapons are often inefficient against fast and mobile infantry and treacherous Tiberium fauna, Goliaths are also fitted with a secondary discus grenade mortar. Operating both weapon systems is impossible whilst mobile, so a set of support legs must be deployed to withstand recoil and maintain accuracy.
The Goliath has earned several nicknames from GDI veterans the most popular being Mammoth JR and Mini-Mammy.

Cost: 800
Primary: 120mm Anti-Tank Gun
Secondary: High-Explosive Discus Launcher
Requires: War Factory
