Long before Tiberium made it's appearance in this area, Globotech constantly used the highway inbetween the canyon to transport much needed supplies to civilian towns around the area. Once the land around the canyon became infested with Tiberium, the civilians that lived in a nearby village and the popular truck stop fled, leaving everything behind. The old village has been cleared out, leaving room for future construction once the area has been cleared from the Tiberium Infestation.
