This modification offers an alternative gameplay to Tiberian Wars involving many Tiberian Sun units which many CnC fans (like me) missing in vanilla CNC3 and add even new my made units which you can't find anywhere else. Story is quite the same like Tiberian Wars, but is all about what if GDI and Nod do not abandon technologies they have used in Tiberian Sun era and instead of that further developed them. But it's not only that, there are many visual, sound and balance changes which I want to see and hear in my mod, new sounds, new music, new effects (like blood and gore, new infantry deaths, new more realistic missile trails) and many more.

They are not too long. the body below is a bit odd now from this perspective.
Maybe a picture of them walking? (side view)

Wasn't the Juggernaut enough powerful as it was? After all its cannons should be slower (it's an artillery, not an AT unit) to attack structures and slow units.

Looking at the other picture of these firing, I think Carnius is still keeping their role the same. I'm guessing that this an upgrade (the same Railgun upgrade from the tech center), which will only increase its damage slightly, along with a new artillery/rail gun animation. If this is true Carnius, I think it looks good and I welcome this idea.

Ok but my question remains: is this upgrade really needed for this unit? I've never seen someone who complained about the Jugg's firepower...

i love the idea! dude the railgun technology is already in use by naval forces for long range artillery!
so jugger getting them looks so real and cool to me!

Can I have an example of an existing naval unit that use railgun for bombardment?

ok the Jugg's firepower is not strong enough ^^

This is a great upgrade and would actually make me want to use the Jugg's again rather than just rolling in the mammoth tanks. it looks amazing.

Spectre always beat Juggernaut because of the different shooting styles which really ****** me off since GDI is suppose to have the better firepower.

A real artillery unit ALWAYS fires his shells in an arc, but railguns can't do that. Juggernauts with railguns look cool (I'll give you that) but it's completely unrealistic.

This could work if it would be a per-object upgrade (could be unlocked by researching the general railgun upgrade) that reduces the artillery range and gives it tank range - basically making it the ultimate tank-destroyer. In short you build the artillery version and if you want you can sacrifice the range and anti-all damage for a good old fashion triple railgun of doom.

Wouldn't railguns entirely change the role of this unit? It's an artillery unit, and railguns are fast, direct anti-armor cannons.
Might still be a good idea if you could re-fit them individually though. Replace your artillery with some heavy anti-armor firepower in a pinch if needed. That might work. Either way, the choice it up to you, the mod author.

It's different. I don't know how it would work though. Maybe make the Jugger bigger then the actual canons? it seems kinda front heavy.

The weapon seems more along the lines of a rail-cannon than a rail-gun. Essentially functioning similar, but using EM force to launch a large explosive shell further and with greater accuracy rather than simply firing a high velocity slug. It is one of the other hypothetical weapon applications of rail-gun tech.

It would probably be very difficult to come up with an explosive shell that could be reliably fired out of Railgun. Dense Inert Metal Explosives are the only kind of explosive filler that I can think of that wouldn't prematurely detonate from the extreme forces involved in a shell being shot out of a Railgun (which includes a small amount of the shell's mass being vaporized into plasma). It would also come much closer than a conventional howitzer shell would to filling the requirement that the shell be made entirely out of electrically conductive materials. On a side note; the idea of using Railguns for artillery purposes as you could simply adjust elevation and the power output to the weapon to change its range instead of having to shove extra bags of propellant into the breach of a howitzer.

rail-gun tech applied to artilary.......thats a scary idea, imaging the range increase

i do think it looks a bit front heavy, like it should fall forwards

also like this idea of the rail gun upgrade turns the juggernaugt into a direct fire tank hunter/short range artillary

Now by taking a better look to it. no the juggernaut does not need this. also the looks still bothers me.

I think it sounds like a pretty good idea. An artillery platform with railguns that can blast **** from across the map? How can you go wrong? I would imagine the upgrade being expensive as hell though. Make it about 6000 credits I would imagine. I believe that is roughly the cost of the Mammoth Mk. II, yes? Still, I think it sounds pretty cool. But that's just me.

I think Railguns for an artillery unit are not such a good idea. For increasing the juggernaut damage you could make an upgrade for a certain, new and better ammo type. But railguns just dont fit from the scientific aspect IMO, because then they had to fire in ridiculously high angles to shoot over barriers or long range, because the extreme velocity won't let the projectile drop down.

Honestly id go for a sonic shell type idea for the juggernaut then railguns which increase or add a great deal of splash damage range but still do the most damage dead center on target.

IMO and the way i am going to work things Railguns give GDI vehicles Armor piercing type Ammo with no AOE, while the regular cannons i am giving a low AOE and am making Special Tanks that use HE rounds to decimate infantry and structures, imo Railguns and HE don't mix railguns send projectiles at such a speed they pierce through anything, stick a beanbag full of metal beans in a Railgun and it will still pierce Armor plating or more likely the bag will shred and you'll get an armor piercing shotgun, ooh i like that idea ITS ALL MINE!!

oh as the Railgun is Armor Piercing and has no AOE it has to be accurate, the issue with that is that if you so much as cut the spread in half of the Juggy it become's overpowered, its got a lot more raw power than you think, ofc i am talking about vanilla juggy, but you get the idea, you'd probably have to reduce the damage if you made it more accurate.

Hi, please find below a link to a Polish prototype Tank.
It seems to me that looks cool.Is it possible to somehow use this project or part of it? could predator tank mk4 could look like this?

Not sure. Railguns are typically designed to fire projectiles in a straight line rather than an arch that could negate intervening terrain and obstacles.

They also might not have as effective explosive radius compared to traditional artillery.

Rail guns are actually suited to long-range artillery units like Metal Gear Rex for example. So the question is does the rail gun increases the unit's firepower or range?

With that railgun upgrade, I'll just need an army of these things and I'll win the game until someone makes air units. haha
