Tiberian Sun Rising is a total conversion for Command & Conquer 3 Tiberium Wars! Tiberian Sun Rising brings back GDI and Nod battling it out during the Second Tiberium War, retelling Tiberian Sun as never before. This isn't just a remake of the hit title C&C Tiberian Sun. It is a mod making Tiberian Sun as it should have been originally so expecting lots of new fun and originality while sticking to the feel Tiberian Sun had. Taking the mindset that this is the first time Tiberian Sun is being made and using the original game as a design concept. This mod will also include the additions made in Firestorm so it is a remake of Tiberian Sun and Firestorm as one to what they should have been.New abilities and units will appear in Tiberian Sun Rising as well as new kind of gameplay altogether.
This battlefield shot was taken after the scheduled activation no problems encountered as expected the field stayed active for a set duration before needing to recharge. Here we can see the Firestorm Shield visible and is described to look much like a waterfall of energy by those manning the base.
Must have taken a while to get that working as intended.
Whoa! I thought its impossible to implement Firestorm system in CC3...
wouldn't it be hard to notice or control the base?...I mean all that blur effect kinda makes it hard to look and select stuff...or it maybe like that if we activate it only others get to see it in that manner..
it use the heat effect from the orca particle's.
So THAT'S why you guys disappeared for such a long time ... XD
Im sure I can guess what the shield does but just to be sure. What does it do? Lol
Haven't you played Tiberiann Sun?
Unfortunatly I have not played Tib Sun =/
okay...Its a shield which blocks everything except for the Ion cannon...But it requires to be charged up and when activated it drains very very quickly...not only that but if any form of attacks or things are blocked these drain the charge even more depending on the power of the attack or unit...However Sub-terrain units can get through tho...
Just say it's the only protection against these Sajuukdamn cluster missiles that tend to render the entire terrain around your base impossible to build on. -_-
Oh ok, well thank you for letting me know =)
What the Hell are you doing here then?!? :O
Go play Tiberian Sun!!! Learn what this awesome mod' is all about!! :D
On that note, have you played the original C&C (Tiberian Dawn)? If not, play that too!
Lol, I would if I had the game. And I might have played Tiberian Dawn, its either that or I have played TibSun. It has been a long long time since I played any of the old C&Cs other than RA2
The game is available for free, actually. Legally of course. EA released RA1, TD and TS + FS for free a year ago or so.
Is it on Origin? And would they run on Win8? I have problems with old games trying to run on it.
Not sure about the origin, nor the win8, but the file they've placed is not entirely correct. You must do something more (not sure what) to get the game running, aside from the download and instalation.
Xendrek just type into Google "Tiberian sun Download" you should see a dozen links pop up where you can download the whole game, on legitimate websites.
Ok thank you guys I will get it and hope it works on my OS.
It keeps saying one or more DLL files are missing any idea how to fix that?
Google Tiberian sun missing dll. Hopefully that will get you some results that you can work with.
I managed to get the game to run, but kept running into more problems. After looking more stuff up Win8 doesnt like too many old games and this unfortunatly is one of them. Thanks for the help everyone was worth a shot to try and get it working.
Haven't you tried running it in compatibility mode for Windows XP or something?
If I run it with a compatibility thing or as admin it pops up saying the DLL file thing. I found out the way around that was just to run in reduced-color mode 16-bit which after doing so I was able to start the game no problem. So I went on choose to play TibSun and it brings up the main menu for it, this is where the problem came in, when I clicked on any option the game freezes and wont do anything.
I suppose you could try googling your issue again, if you are that dedicated to trying out TibSun. Google something along the lines of Issues with playing Tiberian Sun on Windows 8, or Tiberian Sun freezes in menus.
I have but everything I looked at were either issues with The First Decade or the disk version.
At this point it might just be worth trying everything as best as you can. I mean, if it doesn't work than you'll just have a broken game that was already broken.
Makes me wonder if rockets can bypass that like they could in TibSun. Back then you had to activate it with the right timing, or the nukes/tib missiles/drones would just pass over it and still kill your precious powerplant.
Actually it was supposed to block them no matter what..Remember the Firestorm around Cabal's Core's?....that blocked everything expect for the ion cannon...
... and Disruptor sonic waves. Which made it pretty easy to destroy the core without deactivating the Firestorm defense. :P
oh...yeah...those...never knew...
Whoa! I thought that was impossible with the SAGE engine C&C3 uses!
No, it's just impossible for EA, because EA sucks. :P

Wow, amazing. :)
I always turn it off after a missle was blocked by it. Is it also possible to it off in TS rising? So i won't need to fully recharge it before it can be used again.
its great but i suggest a new fx for the shield effects
Question, does the game somewhat lag when you activate it?
I cant imagine it would do, unless you are running an ancient PC.
I did allot of testing streamlining this effects performance it will run on a large number of computers no problem ;). If people run into problems on exceptionally older machines we can put in settings that align with the low graphic settings for those players. Though at that point I'd recommend just getting a new PC :) for a great experience.
Looks absolutely stunning guys, you've indeed put the time you had offline to good use!
I can see through it just fine, no need to change the effects.
I still hope you'll make the un-selected house colour rings around buildings more subtle before your release.
If anyone wants to quickly see or recall what the Firestorm wall looked like in Tiberian Sun here is a screenshot: Moddb.com
Could you make a video of it working? I'd love to see that
It does look best in action I will admit :) and we will have a new video coming up ;) but very focused on development at the moment.
You've truly outdone yourself, Mr. Assassin! Well done!
