Since the GDI wasn't essentially rich during the beginning of the 3rd Tiberium War, they decided to, instead of developing something completely new, they reactivated all Titans and upgraded them to this stage, the T2 Family of the Titans. Now with 2 weapons, 2 Railguns to be precise, it puts the T1 Titans into the shadow.
