I'm really enjoying all the detail you managed to cram on such a small ship, the bridge portion of the ship is an especially amazing improvement.

Nice work guys

The Lancer is a good anti-fighter ship... but it still looks like a dong. Not your fault though, that's Star Wars's fault.

EU ship design went through a weird phallic phase in the 90's. Lancers, Carracks...hell, Dreadnaughts even have a penile-esque "tip" on the front. Freud would have had a field day.

Fractalsponge made a good model of the dreadnaught though. I think the Thrawn's Revenge team could use that look for a future update. The Carrack isn't too bad. I cant wait for the Raider though, now that's a cool ship, not sure about the weird TIE-fighter like wings though but it's still cooler than the Lancer.

I don't mind the phallic phase, as its really good for its intended role

A handful of these would have really changed the outcome of several major star wars battles. Always one of my biggest gripes with the Empire.

"Our enemy is depending heavily on fighters. What do we do?"
"Build bigger ships!"
"Bigger space stations!"
"Mass produce inferior fighters!"

"...build a dedicated anti-fighter escort vessel to protect our capital ships and prevent the destruction of both Death Stars."

"Get out!"

I think Lancers did take part at Endor, but they were so few in numbers that it did not matter.

The Empire would have won if they paid more attention to their Expanded Universe hardware. For example, Interdictor Cruisers should have been mandatory additions for all Imperial strike fleets, prohibitive cost be damned. Imagine if Vader deployed an Interdictor or two at the end of ESB. No last second getaway for the Millennium Falcon.

It's the cigar of Death.

Time to get those Quad Lasers online to roast some enemy fighters.

I don't know about most people, but this was the update I've been looking forward since I discovered 2.2.

Description

Delays aren't all bad- Knickers was able to finish up a quick texture for Slevered's new Lancer model, so we'll be able to include the updated Lancer in 2.2, with a lot more detail and without the UV errors of the old (really old) one. The goal is to get some more lights on it, but other than that it's pretty much ready.
