u have to extract files from the file part 1 part 2 and hotfix (has 1,4 GB) and then ull get 3 new files, 1 is tatw part1 2 is tatw part2 and the 3 hotfix. then u click on part 1 and install and then on part 2 and then on the hotfix. u extract files by clicking the right click on the file and then click extract here. then u can download the patches wich u dont have to extract just click on them to install. (to play the game u dont need to install the patches but its a lot better if u do) . when u do all of this ull have the icon on ur desktop and ull be able to play it by clicking the icon. (u need the disk 1 of m2tw to play the game)

@ lol3 and @ (FA)FAnatic - If you got any sub-mods than that might have something to do with it crashing do a total unistall and make sure you get rid of anything that has M2TW or Kingdoms or TATW in it and follow these instuctions when reinstalling...

1 : Install Medieval 2 Total War update to latest patch. {which is the 1.3}
2 : Install Kingdoms " just one campaign is needed" make sure it is the 1.5 if not update to the 1.5
3 : Install The Third Age part 1 & part 2 to in Medieval 2 Total War main directory will look something like this 'Programs/SEGA/Medieval II Total War'
4 : Install The Third Age Patch 1.1 in same directory as the mod.
5 : Install The Third Age Patch 1.2 in same directory as the mod.
6 : Install The Third Age Patch 1.3 in same directory as the mod.
7 : Play game by hitting desktop icon "looks like the Ring"

Hope this helps

@ carlick - Try waiting alittle bit and then see if it will let you download it if not go here and ask for another link Twcenter.net Hope this helps..

Since playing TATW, I've only run into 1 noticeable graphical glitch. When the camera focuses in on your units, whilst waiting to battle, listening to your generals encouragement. I noticed 'see-thru' units, just the closest units. Nothing major, and I've seen it before on many games.
Great MoD, the wife likes the LoTR stories, so now getting in some x-tra game time is easy!! thx again for job well done.

Thats not really a glitch its something that happened with M2TW and any total war game but it doesn't effect the game what so ever...

Just wanted to say i loved romeTW and seeing as i can pick up M2TW gold dirt cheap. There is no way i can justify not buying it now. What a great value add! this mod looks really professional and i cant wait to give it a test drive. My mates love LOTR and im sure they will be keen to lan it. Great job!

Hi, just got my copy, its the gold edition which includes kingdoms. I have installed it all but its asking for the dvd. (inserted obviously) I suspect it is a patch issue but I am finding info on the internet on what i need to do to patch the gold edition vague as there seem to be some patches specifically for the gold edition. Does anyone know if i just use the regular kingdoms 1.5 patch or is there something special for the gold edition.
Cheers.

Exact message i get is: Wrong disc inserted.
Please insert the original "MED2GOLD" CD/DVD.
Please have a look at Securom.com for further, more detailed information.

medieval 2 itself runs fine...

Thanks for the help i really appreciate it

If you go to options when you click to play one of the "Kingdoms" campaigns and look in the upper right corner of your screen it should say what it is "1.05" or something like "1.5" should be seen for "Kingdoms", it should say for M2TW 1.3, Now about the disc problem I would go and ask for help, it is a fairly common problem and should be easily fixed just go here and ask for help Twcenter.net
