The Red Alert, developed by the mod team of C&C Labs (makes of The Forgotten and C&C All Stars, undertakes one of the most ambitious tasks in C&C modding: to recreate and improve upon an original game. The mod, in development for Red Alert 3, is based off the original Red Alert's art and game play. Not aiming to model realism, it instead endeavors to bring the addictive heart-pounding game play of the classic to a world-class 3D engine, to bring back all of the classic units, including those from Aftermath, and to recreate the very "feel" of its art style. With The Red Alert, epic tank battles, MiG attack runs, and Cruiser strikes will be more than just fond memories — they will all be weapons in your arsenal once again! It was released on September 21, 2011 and was ranked the number one mod on Moddb.

You should consider removing the shadows of the gap effect ring and also stretch it a bit below ground (+fade out) so it looks still nice when it overlaps water surface or cliffs. Is the texture animated btw?

acually the ranger was 600 and the apc was eather 700 or 800. i knew the apc was same price as one of the tanks. but yea even tho the ranger was faster then the apc, it was still pretty useless lol

I'll admit I've been very skeptical about this mod; the unusual choice to directly convert the sprite graphics over into 3d struck me as, to be honest, intellectually and creatively lazy, and very, for lack of a better term, fanboyish. Now that I've seen the final results, though, I'm blown away. Not only does it truely resemble the original game, it's also taken on a character of it's own, and feels quite fresh. Props guys, you've done excellent work here.

I thank you guys for trying to bring back the greatness of the original Red Alert. However the whole new allied logo on the ground kills the effect. If you would use the older triangle Allied logo it would be much more appropriate.

That logo was long since removed all-together. It just wasn't removed in time for the screen shot.
