I'll fight anyone who disagrees with me that Balin was the best Dwarf in the company. Both in the book and the film. Followed by Bofur in the film.
It made me very sad when I remember that it was him in the tomb of Moria. He was a force of reason and the most charismatic of the dwarves. :(
