A gaol is a prison. It's a different spelling of jail and is pronounced the same.

Haha, its mainly from the things that will come from it.
Even orcs I believe fear things like wights and I guess, zombie-ish creatures lol, but I do understand your point since morgul orcs are based in minas morgul where it's said that it's a terrifying place and I believe in the books, it has been kept that way and none ever thought of rebuilding it etc after Sauron was defeated.
