The Great War is a modification for Company of Heroes meant to bring the war two decades earlier. This mod focuses on the later years of the First World War. Currently the two teams will be the British Expeditionary Force against the German Empire, however with time the team will try and bring some more nations in, such as France and Austria-Hungary. This mod will focus or realism but keep the game balanced enough to make it enjoyable. Things to look for in the mod are the famous artillery strikes and the infamous gas attacks. Trenches will provide vital cover for infantry while tanks will roll over the battlefield and instil fear into the enemy troops.

Err, thats strange, I just saw a weapon that was name and look exactly the same in the previous picture, except that one has a platform for mobility. Is this 7.58mm Minewerfer a separate unit or the platform is actually detachable?

Huh?? I thought German soldiers mostly wore the helmet with the spike on top of it O_o?!
that was early in the war. this mod is about the late war, by then they had these helmets
The Germans started the war wearing the "Picklehaube", a boiled leather helmet with a brass spike on top and covered with a tan cotton cover in the field. It proved utterly useless against shrapnel and so in 1916 they introduced the Stahlhelm you see on the screenshots (and no, that one didn't have a spike).
As the mod is set in 1918 we are being historically accurate by having all soldiers wear the M16 steel helmet.
I thougt that the Prussian soldiers used the spiked helmet, and the soldiers from the Germany used the Stahlhelm. I know that the spiked helmets was used in the Prussian/Danish war in 1864.
Well that’s inaccurate. German soldiers from all states used the Picklehaube before the introduction of the Stahlhelm, not just the Prussians.
It is Prussian in origin, but spread to the whole of Germany and other countries around the world in the late XIXth century.
