The Great War is a modification for Company of Heroes meant to bring the war two decades earlier. This mod focuses on the later years of the First World War. Currently the two teams will be the British Expeditionary Force against the German Empire, however with time the team will try and bring some more nations in, such as France and Austria-Hungary. This mod will focus or realism but keep the game balanced enough to make it enjoyable. Things to look for in the mod are the famous artillery strikes and the infamous gas attacks. Trenches will provide vital cover for infantry while tanks will roll over the battlefield and instil fear into the enemy troops.

But the pop cap for this monster has to be very high. Tanks were rare in WW1...

... For the Germans.

By 1918 British and French tanks were everywhere. The Germans did have a resonable tank force, but it was nowhere near the size of the other nation's tank forces.

Yes, that's right. There were around 9000 tanks built during ww1, and only 20 of them - german A7V, rest - allied tanks.

Don't worry, if it's anything like reality the Germans will have developed Anti-tank weapons and tactics much further than the British. So if they do encounter one of the few German tanks i'd say the infantry would struggle to defeat it abit more than the Germans would with a British tank.

Also, will this be the Brits standard tank? Or will you have both this and the mark IV?

There will be both mk-iv and mk-v in the mod.

The standard tank for the B.E.F. is the Mk IV. The Mk V replaces it once you get the appropriate upgrade in the Tank Corps commander tree.

Their was brief discussion about having the t-26 in EF but the dev's took one look at the multi-turret design and just cringed. With that in mind it just makes this thing even more impressive.

Yeah, devs of TGW mod made really impressive work =)
PS
By the way, EF devs should know that there were also single-turreted variants of t-26 ( Upload.wikimedia.org )

they might serve as a good reward unit for the t-70 or whatever they've got going in that.

It is for identification so you don't fire apon an allied tank. This was especially neccesary in WW1 since 60% (30 of 50) German tanks used were MK.IV Beutpanzers. The red and white stripes were replaced by the blue and red target in WW2 for identification.
