S.W.O.R.D. is an Open Source Gameplay/Multiplayer first-Person modification for Half-Life 2 set in a Gladiator setting to try out new ideas that could be implementable in larger rpg/mmo's, which strongly need a better and more diverse and immersive gameplay. SWORD will make use of the latest technology available in the Source engine to create a very fast paced and visually thrilling swordplay experience. If things are working and are fun, we will expand on our ideas... The first release will include a Deathmatch mode as well as a Team Deathmatch mode. The timeline will be set in the prime of the Roman Empire, and initially only the gladius shortsword will be included as weaponry. We will also go Open Source with our code, to the mutual benefit of the community! Design Document
