Stargate - Empire at War: Pegasus Chronicles is a total conversion for the fantastic game Star Wars - Empire at War: Forces of corruption. This total conversion will replace every single Star Wars asset of the original game with Stargate assets. This includes units, buildings, icons, sounds, videos and so much more. Pegasus Chronicles offers 3 playable races, the Ta'uri (alliance between Earth and the Asgard), Anubis (a mighty systemlord) and the Wraith. Beside these 3 playable races, you will meet many non-playable ones like the Replicators, the Asurans, the systemlord alliance, the Aschen, the Ori and many more. Each faction will have several space and land units, well known from the series or completely new ones. Contrary to our first full version for the normal Empire at War, the next release will offer finished GC maps, in which you can play through the known Stargate storylines and experience a lot of never seen missions and adventures.

Maurowhelan asked:
Once the Tau'ri have Atlantis or another ancient world can they build space and ground puddle jumbers?

and

Darth_Saber asked:
When the player captures certain planets, they find the option of creating Puddle Jumpers, after building their specific building; however, the player is only allowed to build the Jumpers for space.

Now the Tauri are nothing if not known for reverse engineering every piece of tech they can get their hands on; thus it is reasonable that the Tauri would learn as quickly as possible everything about the Puddle Jumpers and how to create more of them. Thus my question is: "Will the player be allowed to build Puddle Jumper tactical fighters for ground combat?"

Answer:
The Tauri had control over Atlantis and with it over several Puddle Jumpers for a long time. But they never managed to rebuild any of the tech they used. So no, you will not be able to build Puddle Jumpers but might get some as a reward for completing missions or side quests. The way how ground fighters will be done is still being discussed by team.

Drakkenor asked:
2) Is it possible to have all factions able to corrupt? The Tau'ri could get techs and get access to allied (or stolen) ships through corruption. The Goa'uld could get slaves and credits through it. And the Wraith could get increased population through culling.

Answer:
Corruption is something pretty difficult in modding. You need to have several scripted mission which takes a lot of time. The tech systems we will be using are not determined till now but if we implement corruption, the Tau'ri might get it first.

3) Is it possible to have normal units to have a land and space form like heroes? I am always frustrated that in all the mods I played, the designers always make a "new" ground based fighter rather than make the fighters be able to go to ground. is this because of game limitations or personal preference???

Answer:
As far as I know it is not a limitation of the engine nothing said about how difficult it is to code. So yes, it is mostly a personal preference as ground fighters are very powerful units (as they have been in SG:EaW).

Mark Andrew James Widdows asked:
Are you real big fans of stargate as far as read the books and comics...

Answer:
I must admit that I only watched the original movie, the series and the two sg-1 movies. But I take any chance I get to watch SG on TV even if my girlfriend starts to call me a 'nerd' ;)

An idea for the wraith bombing run: instead of dropping bombs, could they instead use culling beams? And have it so the wraith earn credits fr every infantry culled???

With the Ori and Asgard beams you have it where it has a long cool down time and you must click it again to fire again so that it is not wasted on the tradeoff that it must be micromanaged.
Is it possible to make it be able to be selected to be auto fired by right clicking so the people who don't care to micromanage(or forget to fire it[Like Me!]) can make sure it is used? I remember in FOC there is some abilities that are auto fire capable but must first be turned on...
Is it possible to make it when it is right clicked it fires 3 times as fast at a third of the damage? that would leave it balanced(i think...) and allow those who like to just watch the great graphics to see the beam more often. (This is just a random idea)

I have also noted that the wraith fighters (even the hero fighters) don't heal... even with the repair station, or the hero ability(now that's fun to use on hives!) is this a glitch or on purpose? I'm getting mildly annoyed I cant heal my fighter heroes. =P

Description

Hey there, today it is my turn for answering some of your questions you asked for the Stargate - Empire at War: Pegasus Chronicles developer Q&A session.

My name is Frederik "AC-Suchti" Wille and I study informatics in third semester at the university of Hamburg.

I began as beta tester after being active in our forum for several years. I always wanted to help but I thought that I could not spend enough time into modding, so I just did some minor moddeling as the mine built by Ba'al on Erebus. When finishing school I joined the team as coder in August 2013. At the beginning I worked on ground forces of the Goauld, Tauri and some minor factions. Now I am responsible for all kinds of buildings, from the ground bases to satelites. While being pretty busy doing university stuff, I try to do the best I can to have the buildings being ready for release.

I hope you enjoy the Q&A, my little introduction of myself and my answers :)

More answers will be send out next Sunday…stay tuned!
