The point of this mod is to add portions of the Star Wars Expanded Universe- the novels and games- to Star Wars Battlefront. First and foremost, the New Jedi Order.

In Star Wars, there are three main time periods.

1) Prequel. This includes Episode 1 to 3 and all novels that occur in between.
2) Classic. This includes Episodes 4 through 6 and all the novels in between and afterward- namely, the entire war with the Empire.
3) New Jedi Order. This includes the 19-book New Jedi Order series, which begins 25 years after Return of the Jedi, and deals with the Yuuzhan Vong invasion.

The New Jedi Order, or most specifically, the Yuuzhan Vong, to our knowledge, have not been included in any completed mods.

However, the Yuuzhan Vong are among the greatest villains ever seen in Star Wars. Not only that, but it's among the most realistic Star Wars book series ever written. Generally speaking, in Star Trek or Star Wars, there are character shields. The main characters almost always survive, and the bad guys die. For example, in the original trilogy. While Obi-wan and Yoda die, all the main good guys (Luke, Leia, Han, Chewie) survive every movie, while Jabba, Vader, Tarkin, and the Emperor are killed.

Not so in the New Jedi Order! Classic and expanded universe characters are killed, and this storyline has more suspense than any other series. You never know who is going to die next as you read, since the character shields are GONE. That's right, GONE.

Hard as it is to believe- even the original characters are at risk. Chewbacca DIED in the beginning of the invasion. Furthermore, DOZENS of major characters that have been introduced in the dozens of Star Wars novels are killed throughout the series, perhaps hundreds. Entire worlds are exterminated. Coruscant is smashed and remade into Yuuzhan'tar, all technology blasted from the face of the planet, the whole world terraformed. And there is yet another major character that is killed, who has been in the majority of the books as well, but I won't spoil who for those who haven't read it.

The New Jedi Order is among the best Star Wars has to offer in terms of the Expanded Universe, and this will be our first priority.

The Yuuzhan Vong are invaders from another galaxy. They hate technology, and everything they use is organic and genetically engineered- their ships, their armour, their weapons. And the worst part- they cannot be sensed with the Force. To the Jedi, they are nonexistent. Later in the series we discover why, but again, I'm not going to spoil it. More info on the Vong here:

For the initial release of the mod, we will be adding the Yuuzhan Vong to the game, to fight against the Galactic Alliance (combined forces of the Rebels [now the New Republic] and the Imperial Remnat [what is left of the Empire]). We will be modelling their organic ships and weapons, and adding their entire race into the game. And it'll be a heckuvalot of fun

We'll also include a couple maps to fight the Vong on.

In later releases we'll create and include more complex and cool maps (Possibly the Death Star...and a few surprises), and start adding in more Expanded Universe vehicles and vessels. Possibly the ability to fly capital ships!

Hi this mod will rock. Are you planning to completely remoddel every planet and rename them and everything??. U could exchange Tantive IV for the Yuuzhan Vong ship one of the characters gets imprisoned in.
I would like to test and help PLAN the mod (I can't mod yet, i need someone to teach me:) )

Ive been looking around for a mod that with have different ship wut im thinking is the V wing and the B wing and the E wing and all the differnt tie fighter out there because im am quite sad there are only 3 differnt ships in swbf2 for each side it would be nice to see some other fighters

I had an Idea for a mod as well, I wanted to post it up as it's own mod but... for those of you who have played Battlefront 2 already, you will find they changed quite a few things on various battlefields, for one, they removed Bespin entirely, and many of the other maps, now there is only one map per planet, which kindof sucks, but oh well,

another thing is that the battle of Geonosis is completely different, it's a much smaller map with no Laat gunships and no spire, no Techno union ships and only one AT-TE vs 2 Spider Droids and a Hailfire, also the skybox on this new map is screwed up.

therefore, I think it would be best to make a mod returning classic battlefront maps to battlefront 2, with the classic versions of the vehicles, (the new AT-ATs work differently, they only seat one, and the primary fire is the gunner's fire the secondary fire was the pilot's fire, which works fine) but the new Laat is nowhere near what it used to be, I loved the old Laat, it was something fearsome, also one should be able to just stand in the Laat and have it take off, the walls close in in the new Laat gunship so the guy might tumble around inside as the pilot maneuvers and such, but won't fall out in this way one can cram in around a dozen Troops into a single Laat rather than before,

the Laat's weakness is that two hits from a rocket launcher can bring it down, so the pilot has to be wary.

The other maps will include Bespin city, where you can get Han solo and boba fett as heroes, or perhaps chewbaca with c-3po on his back, (the initial release will prolly have just plain chewie)

there will be aditional assault maps in the manner of Mos Eisley assault entitled "Duel" maps these include an enlarged Mustafar map which has the lava lake and floating, moving platforms, as well as the classic "High Ground" area, a new map of the Bespin carbon freezing chamber/bottomless pit, where you can also fall into one of those tubes.
and finnaly, the emperor's throne room from Return of the jedi,
possible inclusions might be a new Death Star Interior assault where Ben Kenobi can Duel Darth Vader, though that would require new models

2 brand spankin new space maps, Death Star surface/trench run, and Space Endor, both feature a massive Death star and unlike normal space maps, you cannot win simply by destroying imperial ships, the imperials have the advantage in terms of a low point limit, in that they only need to destroy 2 Calimari cruisers and enough ships, but the rebels have an advantage in that they only need to destroy one thing in order to secure victory, normal space maps have 180 points limit, the more enemys you kill the more points you get, destroying parts of enemy capital ships gives much more, you can destroy parts from the outside and some you can take out from the inside, the imperials have 400 points to get, the rebels have 2000 to get, however, there is one object on the map that if destroyed, is worth 2000 points, the Death star main reactor, deep within the death star itself, the rebels must fly into the superstructure trying desprately not to crash, and destroy the main reactor and get out in time, when the main reactor is destroyed there is a time limit, the rebels have in essence already won, it doesnt matter if the imperials get to, or over their 400 goal at this point, all the time limit does is tell the reb pilots how much time they have before the entire death star explodes, deadly fire rages through the superstructure, and you have to race against it in order to survive, once the death star explodes it will send thousands of asteroid like fragments in all directions, which have to be avoided, after the time is up the day is yours.

with the death star surface/trench run its pretty much the same deal, the trench goes on for quite a distance and is your best bet because it gives you cover from the autoturrets all over the surface, the interior of the death star includes 5 gun ports for imperial gunners to man, two of which are right in front of the exhaust port, the exhaust port is such a distance away and at such an angle that it cannot be targeted from long range, however, two torpedoes from an X-wing will be able to destroy it, and a hangar for imperial pilots to leave from, the rebels on the other hand spawn in space as either X-wings or Y-wings automatically rather than as pilots and getting into their fighters, the imperials and the rebels once again have similar goals to the endor space map, however the imperial points are down to 30 or 50, the rebel points are at 1000, but the death star exhaust port is worth 1000 points, so no matter what, if they get the exhaust port, they win.

these are ideas I have and can be implemented without too much dificulty, I have another, more ambitious project called "Star Wars Battlefront 2: Clone Wars" which includes maps such as Hypori Assault, Expanded Coruscant, Seige of Muunilinst, Rescue on Hypori, Muuilinst city, Muuilinst Space, Muuilinst Tower,
Mon Calimari, Yavin Ruins, Illum with the crystal cave

Obi Wan Swoop (Lightsaber, can only be used by Obi Wan in Clone armour)

Durge Swoop (super lance) can only be used by Durge

essentually this brings the battles in the cartoon series, Clone Wars into the Battlefront game, new models need to be made, and I may even go as far as changing the overall graphics to make it cell shaded and REALLY look like it's the Cartoon, though two versions might be better for people, Cell shaded and non Cell Shaded.
