If fear has always been the Empire's weapon of choice, the X-Wing has always been the New Republic weapon of choice to confront it. Created by Incom for the Empire originally, the X-Wing has been in active service in the Rebellion and then the New Republic ever since its designers defected and the prototypes were recovered from Fresia. More powerful than Imperial TIE Fighters and also very versatile, various models of the X-Wing remained in the New Republic's navy throughout the entire Galactic Civil War.
