Too bad we haven't seen more of those in ds9. ( i don't count that abonimation of the "regent" )

An episode seeing a negh'var vs the jem hadar battlecruiser/mantis would have been awesome.

I wonder how Federation ships dealt with the Negh'Var during the brief time the Khitomer Accords were voided. She's massive, well armored and it's weapon systems are insane.

I imagine by avoiding it, mostly. The only Federation ships that would stand a chance against a Negh'Var would be heavier starships, like the Galaxy or Sovereign.

From what we know, the Negh'Var is rarer than even the Sovereign. If they found it alone, Starfleet probably would have swarmed it with frigates and cruisers. Starfleet ships have much better long-term endurance in a battle than their Klingon counterparts. If the Negh'Var came across a Galaxy it would have been an interesting battle. A Sovereign would have been very tough for the Negh'Var. I agree, though, would have loved to see more of this ship used in fleet battles!

With the power of plot bunnies. Same way the Empire can never hold onto an SSD.

Prometheus will tear it apart, should klingons leave their escorts.
One of you reasonably noted that Prometheus is a little underpowered. Buff Prometheus shielding and disable resistance! She could be better for a late game battleship.

Nah, she's a fast pocket battleship ideal for hitting behind the lines. In combat she can actually keep pace with corvettes, so she's great for powerful raids.

I never really saw the point of the Prometheus. She was a gimmick, nothing more tbh.

Description

"Do you tremble and quake with fear at the approach of combat, hoping to talk your way out of a fight like a Human? Or do you hear the cry of the warrior, calling you to battle, calling you to glory like a Klingon?"
- A challenge posed by Gowron, Chancellor of the Klingon High Council

By far the most powerful conventional warship in the Klingon fleet, the Negh'Var-class battleship represents the next generation of Klingon warship design. Carrying a truly massive amount of armament, even by Klingon standards and even for a ship its size, the Negh'Var is slowly taking its place at the very head of the Klingon fleet.

Developed in the late 2360s and 2370s, the IKS Negh'Var, first of her class, was launched in 2372 and immediately surpassed all expectations during trials, and again in actual combat as the Negh'Var spearheaded the Klingon invasion of the Cardassian Union. Proving more than a match for any Cardassian warships in its path, the Negh'Var soon entered a full production run. Negh'Var-class battleships fought with great honour and distinction in the Dominion War, often being used as the personal flagships for accomplished Klingon Generals, and gave the Jem'Hadar yet another reason to respect Klingon prowess in battle.

Since the Dominion War's conclusion, the number of Negh'Var-class battleships in the Klingon fleet has steadily increased. Being far more expensive to build than the Vor'cha, the Negh'Var will continue to serve as a flagship and heavy hitter within the fleet, bringing its immense firepower to bear in support of the Empire's more nimble cruisers.

The Empire's enemies will know the strength of the Klingon people! They will know the ferocity of the Klingon heart! They shall hear the cry of the warrior, and they will tremble at the knowledge that Klingon warriors are coming to kill them!
